Opponents today have to double Ladd to cover him. Maybe he's tougher, faster and more agile than Lance. Not totally serious but he is no easy job for today's DBs.
Anyway, more capable receivers and a solid run game should make us kinda formidable.
I haven’t actually compared athletic and physical measurables between Lance and Ladd. But if they are identical, Lance had a huge advantage as the average athleticism and strength of NFL defenders has dramatically increased between 1965 and 2025. That was my only point and its clearly a fact, readily visible in empirical data. The changes in NFL athletes in the last 50 years is so dramatic its not even worth pulling data. No knock on Lance or Ladd, just an observation.

I’m excited he’s not the only weapon that teams need to worry about this year too! Thats the much more important point we agree 100% on. I have no concerns going to him early and often, but I hope to see a lot more open targets and options that spreads it out - thats more valuable than having one receiver with superb stats. I suspect he’s gonna be open a lot and get a lot.
“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Height, weight, speed are very similar between Lance and Ladd but Ladd is doing the same things against today's players. Draw whatever conclusions you like.

Lance Alworth would do well in today's NFL, given today's 'vitamins', workout facilities and the year around attention to getting better.
He'd have to up his game and could, plus there is a lot dbs can't do today that they were permitted back then.

Sooo, Today is report day for Chargers rookies. Thunderous silence.

Maybe later. I may be a little antsy.

Harris is one of 30 2nd rounders who remain unsigned. Not good but should be resolved. Probably. Missing camp puts added pressure on the players and their agents. I believe there are fines which go up every day he holds out.

Here is one link to the list of yet unsigned 2025 draftees, which is mostly populated by 2nd rounder. However, there are a couple of notable 1st rounders of Denver's and Cinci's. The Jag's 4th rounder seems to be an outlier!

I don't know if any of these unsigned draftees have reported to camp, but I would not panic yet as this seems to be a contagion among all 2nd rounder, most likely because of something moronic in the collective bargaining agreement already on the books!

                    I'd be a lot more concerned if I were a Denver's fan!

Houston became the 1st team in history to give a fully guaranteed contract to a 2nd rd pick #34, Cleveland followed suit with a fully guaranteed pick #33.
All other 2nd round picks (30) are holding out for the fully guaranteed contract, which up to now went to 1st rd only.
This will probably take a while.

with the collusion report in the news recently, i think the 2nd round picks will be determined to stick together on this issue. this might take a while.

One owner screwed it up for everybody by giving too much guaranteed money to their 2nd rounder I believe.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                          Let’s win one for Mack.
