Surprise #1: Tarheeb Still is listed at CB, not safety. I had been under the impression that he was being groomed to eventually replace Alohi Gilman.

Surprise #2: A.J. Finley is ahead of Tony Jefferson, backing up Derwin James. The probability is that youth is going to be served here. If so, good on A.J. Finley for stepping up.

Surprise #3: Hard to believe, based on what we've seen, that J.T. Woods could be ahead of anyone, but he currently stands as ther club's SS2. I have the feeling that Joe Hortiz will cut a bunch of DBs (Walton, Dent, Harper, Woods, Kennedy, Phillips, Jefferson and Hankins), and re-claim a couple that clear waivers.

All the news I hear pertaining to the Chargers right now is Colin Kaepernick joining the team in some capacity. What is up with that?

We may see a whole new roster after cut downs to 53 when Hortiz goes crazy signing other team's cuts

I could see Hortiz making as many as four waiver claims in an effort to fill roster voids, and releasing four players that are upgrade candidates. The new players may not be any better than he old ones, but they'll fill current needs better than the guys who get cut do.

Joe will be spackling holes in the drywall for some time to come.

Not as a QB but as one of the coaching staff. I guess he declined and still wants to play. I’ll pass on him since his 2013 & 2014 stats were horrific

Not horrific and one pass away from a Super Bowl appearance & thumping of the Broncos in 2013.

Bring Kap in to compete, you can always waive him.
