I'm not sure what that list is supposed to be, its an odd selection of 6 guys over 11 years of lackluster results. But any list that lets us relive the excitement that was Marion Grice is definitely worth the ride, you can count me in!

Remember how part of the forum had a complete meltdown at the immense loss we suffered when Grice was signed off of our PS by AZ after not making the roster in his rookie camp? Was it even here at TPB, or way back at SDUT? Dang - can't believe that was all the way back in 2014 already ... time sure does fly.

I raise my glass to Mr. Marion Grice ...

I'm confused too. Especially on Grice.
Are we confusing him with someone else? He ran a 4.67 forty, a bad 1.65 ten yard....at 208 lbs. He was decent in college tho.

His NFL career is 15 carries, 41 yards!

Too bad Jackson couldn't stay healthy, he produced when he played

I do not know how that List Of Six was constructed but Mr Grice made that esteemed list fair and square and nobody can take that from him now.

Fun fact: He was last on the Edmonton Eskimos practice squad in 2017-2018, before being released to start what we assumed would be the his next phase in life.
**OH NOT SO FAST - in 2022 he is selected by what Wiki can only call "the Mobile team of the AFL" (not knowing their mascot name yet) ... and is scheduled to play in 2023.

I guess wiki gave up after that last update. sigh.

Geez - that 2014 Charger draft turned out to be a pile of shit:

Lol,...so he has been super irrelevant! Cut from CFL.
I never had much expectations for him. Telesco is just a bad drafter of RBs.

OG has been around a lot of NFL players. I read somewhere that his little league teams were coached by former Dolphins players and coaches. But he was a WR and missed a lot of time in offseasons when he made the transition to TE, so he is a bit behind. The link I put below shows what I am talking about. The good thing is that he is a little like Gates was, so raw that he didn't have a lot of bad habits to break. I think in the end, he is going to be fine. Just he has a long way to go, but he is putting in the work and that is the biggest part of the battle.

Herbert isn’t going to put the ball on the side of OG away from the corner and let OG extend those long arms? Teams are going to play man any time he’s on the field? I just don’t see it. Teams are not going to upset their entire defensive scheme for a 5th round rookie TE until he becomes a player that demands extra attention.
Why play a guy who has never played TE like he is a TE? Your assuming because we call him a TE that every NFL opponent will oblige and treat him like one. But if he was never used like TE in college why would you treat him like one?

NFL teams line up WR at the TE alignments from time to time, so they have the language in their scheme to adjust to do it. It's not going to disrupt any NFL D. And every NFL team has nickel and dime packages with multiple S and CB, so they have the personnel groups. We might not see it in PS, but come the regular season, it is something that teams do it from time to time, so every team has an adjustment for it.

If not, why has every NFL team not used a big WR as a TE and had a ton of success? NFL teams have tried it from time to time, and it hardly ever seems to work.

If you don't believe that he was a slot receiver the majority of the time, here are the links that prove it.

I do believe he’s a big slot. And I believe he will wall off a 5-10, 185 pound corner with his 6-5, 250 pound frame. Time will tell. He’s got solid players in front of him right now. Maybe second half of the season we see him out there. But I do believe he’s a mismatch.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                    Let’s win one for Mack.
