the 7th rounder is a bonus if they make it, the 3rd and 4th rounders SHOULD be contributing.

Yeah im not really worried about Colson. He has had setbacks with the apendix surgery and hamstring, etc. He is going to be a good player. Still, if we can id like to resign Perryman for another season. He wont break the bank.

As a consummate ball watcher (guilty as charged) I only understand the true value of Joe Alt when a much more savvy person breaks down the tape for me to truly understand the scope of Alt's contribution on that right side of the line. His talents, stance, athleticism and awareness are simply top notch for a mere rookie.

I do understand that the seduction for Bowers who went to the dreaded Raiders, with his stellar play and production this season will continue for many as a topic of discussion. What Alt will always have to contend with in those comparisons is the nature of his crucial yet down and dirty contributions to the Chargers offense vs the sexiness of a top TE who catches balls and scores TDs. Whether fair or unfair, that is how things go for O-Linemen, just not a very sexy and overly appreciated position even if you are really good.

Good points. Also lost in the discussion is Alt's prevention of bull rushers like Maxx and others blasting in from the right side and possibly crippling Herbie...yes, we all know about our IOL woes...but at least we now have bookend OT's for the next 8-10 years in Alt and Slater...

The problem we have is the IOL is so inconsistent it makes the selection and value of Alt less apparent. Imagine Pipkins at RT and Salyer at guard - Herbert would not survive the season.

He has done better with worse. The "bookends" funnel the rush up the middle. Opponents have noticed. It's either get the ball out in 1 second, run or take the hit.
A killer RB/ FB can help likewise a top slot rec. Remember Brady and his slots / TEs? Getting through didn't matter, the ball was gone. We gotta have some of that.
A new "Linsley" C would be dynamite to make OL adjustments.
I'd love to have great OGs but I'd start with a top vet C.

I've already written off our 7th round. 3 and 4 are the questions still for me. Colson I think will be a good player next year, not sure great, but good would be good. I expect he adds close to nothing this year but thats ok. #4 is my complete wildcard that idunno, he doesnt seem to get many reps unless I'm just missing it. I had hopes he might be more productive.

So Still gets random drug tested right after his big game in Atlanta and now the NFL clarifies its random drug testing policy after he posted his random drug test notice...lol

Refs can't make a correct call after 10 minute group consultations but are quick to tip off the NFL on suspicions. Maybe if they worry more about their actual jobs they wouldn't have so much time singling out great players/performances.

We have all made mistakes and missed out on some great opportunities. I know I have, but what the F Ryan? You really dove in.
