agree.... but the gold pants look good with the air coryell white jerseys they wore at home and away.... they looked "electric", fast and explosive....

agree, the gold/yellow pants were great in the coryell era. the color looks a little off on the current pants - i am a big fan of the coryell era helmet and uniforms.

well said. the gold were better in the Air Coryell days

They are ok now, just think the white pants make the uniforms look sharper...and maybe to me powder blue and gold dont portray a tough, physical team as much if that makes any sense.

I used to like the dark blue and white pants of the LT days quite a bit when powder blues was am occasional thing. Much more so than the all navys they wear now.

For *SO* long, when it came to uniforms, the NFL was famously stodgy, rigid, and limited in the leeway it gave (or more accurately, DIDN'T give) teams. Each team had ONE home uniform, and ONE road uniform, and generally, the ONLY difference between the two was that the road jersey was white.

Now? Well, it's common for teams to have FOUR separate uniforms. The Chargers jerseys can be white, Navy Blue, Royal Blue or Powder Blue. The pants can be white, yellow, Navy, or Royal.

If you're wondering why this explosion of uniform options took place, look no further than the lucrative licensing agreements that the NFL has in place with the manufacturers of sports gear. Can you say "cha-CHING!" lol

interesting history tidbit from an ESPN article:

The idea of treating the mask as a team-colored design element of an integrated uniform system didn't come until 1974, when the Chargers unveiled a new uniform set that included something truly radical for its time: a yellow face mask.

Chargers need to go back to the uniform scheme below with those helmets. That helmet is F’n fire.

The reason they wore white is because no team, college or pros, wears navy or black in the sun belt...... unless they play indoors with AC!

Shanahan with DEN years ago cheated and had Broncos "mistakenly" pack the white uniforms instead of their dark blues when SD was having a heat wave..... NFL ruled that SD had to wear those stupid dark hot navy blues in the very hot mission valley sun.... Chargers were ahead at halftime, but the chargers players were physically spent and got dominated by DEN in second ahlf due to the heat.... Ive worn one dark navy blue jersey at a Chargers game sitting on sunny side... and just sitting I was baking in the sun... the heat absorbed by that navy blue baked me!.....

There is a reason smart coaches like coryell chose to wear whites at home and on the road.... and Dallas always wore white.....so did most other teams like MIA...etc.... even thoough MIA copuld have worn Teal which is not really dark.... they still chose white during Marino era....

some think Im crazy but it makes a huge difference....

We have always that problem !
Becton, Harris and Hampton could be the solution.
