As long as they don't have a ton of injuries they will dominate. Just the upgrade at RB will improve the o-line. Plus, they have a full year in the system. The o-line will be fine, IMHO.

I remember a horrific Chargers OL of Sam Tevi at LT, Forrest Lamp at LG, Dan Feeney, Trai Turner and Storm freaking Norton. They went 7-9. Rivers survived. This current line is the best Chargers OL since the days of McNeil, Dielman, Hardwick and Clary. I'm not worried.

They have seen the tape. You think they have no idea how to play better with the 2024 OL if the WRs, TEs and RBs are the 2025 crew?

So what do better, albeit young and inexperienced, weapons do for Herbert when he has pass rushers in his face in seconds because Bozeman and Zions cannot pick up stunts and blitzes?

We have no idea if these two can play better than last year. Bozeman has been awful for 2 straight NFL seasons and now is older.. I am not seeing where this magical improvement comes from.

We were all so teased with Zion showing REAL promise at center, and now competition appears over with Bozeman back as the starter.

In Harbaugh and Hortiz I trust with no doubt! There will be some misses, which I’m not worried about because there will be far more RIGHT with that duo.

It feels great to have this infusion of young talent to go along with a very accomplished head coach and a still ascending great young QB, so all is looking and feeling so bright.

Perryman was released too.. great news!

I never bought any of it! They declined his 5th year option.
They just trying to see if he can be better elsewhere and it didnt take long. The man crush on Bozeman is puzzling too. I get he is a good guy, makes the right calls but he just doesnt perform well enough.

I do hope they can be better this season but i got to think we are singing and or drafting another OG and OC in the next offseason. Im not giving up on James being able to contribute this year.
Popper was right to question them after the draft for which Hortiz didnt like it , and here we are. Same OL but with Becton and better depth. Hope Becton can stay healthy.

If the can consistently run the ball, all things will fall into place. Imagine Herbert with a run game. That has always been the plan. Last year the run game was inconsistent, that why the first pick was a rb. When dobbins was good, so was the offense last year. He just was durable enough. A young stud rb can be, mix in a solid veteran, we will or should have more success. Not sure or know what the point was trying Zion at center. Hopefully it helps. Too bad he couldn’t get the job, then I would sit Bozeman and start Salyer at left guard.

My guess is that Zion at C was about him knowing what the C sees and thinks to improve his play at OG, at least. Maybe he gets the C job, maybe not but it makes him a better player. Improved play at both OG spots makes Boze a better C. Plus all the upgrades at RB, WR and TE allows more variety of play calls and protections or designed QB runs.

I can see investing more time and giving Zion one last chance. He is a physical speciman and a first round investment.

Move on to whom? I'm sure Harbaugh expects his 30 yo journeyman to play above average in this year's offense. In Harbaugh I trust.
I don't see Boze either but I do support Jim Harbaugh. I believe Jim has a plan to win with him. So that's where I stand.
He may think Boze is above avg in the power run game that he has planned for this year.

This makes a lot of sense to me. You force him to take a different approach in the offseason than usual to see if it helps him shore up the weak points in his game. Maybe now he has a better understanding of why the C is making a certain call and what he needs to do at the OG spot for the whole line to function.

but you are making it worse than it seems - they had Trent Scott (RT), Michael Schofield (RG) and Scott Quessenberry (C) taking the majority of snaps, and two of those guys recovered fumbles that year (probably when PR got drilled in the back blind sided).

Your Oline seems like the Herbie's baptism through fire year of 2020, as a rookie.

Interior run blocking was horrid last year ...... Pipkens gets only partial blame. Boseman struggled in all aspects of the center position last year.

Some here think his run blocking might mitigate the horror show of his pass protection.

They had two book end tackles and Dissley .... couldn't collectively run block worth a lick last year inside being the problem, or pull.
Bozeman not only is lost on the 2nd level, he never makes it there, or to the edge.

Hell, put a salmon that can snap the football out there and let him at least flop around to confuse DTs.
