Heard the same thing about Bowers here last year..."he hasnt done anything"..then he goes out and smashes NFL record with over 100 catches. Tons of examples.

Studs are studs...and Hampton is a stud.

I am not sure why you think Najee is a harder runner that wear down defenses more Hampton. Because he is a bit bigger? I suggest Hampton runs harder and feel confident he will break more tackles than Najee this year.

If Najee runs as hard as you think and breaks lots of tackles, the longest run of his career would not be only 37 yards

I do agree it is a physical tandem that should be effective wearing down defenses but it should not be a 50/50 split if Hampton is ripping off chunk yardage. We have seen enough to know Harris wont be.
Players who were great in college and were highly drafted fail in the NFL all the time. I'm not suggesting Hampton will fail, but he still has not taken a single NFL snap, we don't know what he is or isn't until he does. We know who Najee Harris is. He's a big bruising, punishing RB who has rushed for 1k+ yds in every season he has played. He's averaged 4 ypc and has never missed a game in his NFL career. He wore down the Chargers' defense in Pittsburgh last season. An RB like Harris who can churn out yards and keep the offense on the field is one of the best friends a defense can have. If the Chargers can successfully ground and pound this season and keep the TOP in favor of the Chargers, it will be like having an extra man for the defense, it will help the defense stay fresh and force three and outs or turnovers. That is what Najee Harris brings to the team.

I hear what you are saying. Najee is a good edition and should be an upgrade over Gus Edwards. I just feel Hampton is going to force his way to more carries this year, the kid of back that is hard to keep off the field.

Keep in mind there was a group of scouts that felt the gap between him and Jeanty was very small. He is the first RB drafted in other drafts

Slow your roll, man... we haven't even started a "Fire Greg Roman (Part 3)" thread yet.

I believe KLS will be a good player but he isn't even going to start for us right away. He will be WR 5. I think we see him more as the year goes on.

Keenan is going to play over KLS too.

Drafting two WRs wasn't a surprise .....was it? It was to you?

By no means am I being negative, I just think you really don't like QJ.... Which is fine. But he is gonna play till loses his job, and that's fair.
IMO they drafted three WR when you factor in Gadsden, whose primary role is going to be catching passes not blocking. Yeah, it surprised the heck out of me, Harbaugh preaches trench warfare, but they kind of ignored it in this draft, outside of the 3rd rnd pick. We don't know how good or not good Tre Harris is going to be, but the Lions traded up to draft Georgia OG Tate Ratledge two picks after the Chargers took Harris. Who knew they would find someone like KLS in the 5th round? KLS is still unproven, but he looks the best rookie pass catcher so far. I'd feel better about the OL with Ratledge starting at one of the OG spots, the Lions have him penciled in as the starter on the right side.

There are still Busts every draft so i disagree with that but I don't think Hampton is going to be a bust at all.
I believe every rookie has to prove they belong no matter where they are drafted.
Season starts in Sept, not August.

A concussion? You reaching,.... Injuries happen. And you will never stop soft tissue injuries but you can slow them down. Ben has been praised by former players, like JJ Watt who was with him before Ben went to Michigan.
Do we even know what's up with Becton? I havent heard.

Defenders get tired from running too, not just hitting. They will have to run more and run harder to chase Hampton than Harris. I wish Harris was available, I wish we’d already seen him run a few reps, I wish he hadn’t blown off his face and then his business team lied to us about it. But he did and they did. I get it - it’s business. But i know what they did.

Truth be told, my fave back in the draft was Henderson. I liked OH plenty though and the bigger stronger Hampton might be better for an overly predictable OC and an OL coach that CAN’T FUCKING COACH!
