Extending Tuli won't get them any savings - he is on a rookie deal and even with the bump because of 4th year PPP - his base salary will jump to like $4m - he gets like a $2.5m raise or something

With respect to "Fortner + Seumalo" for the same price - I want Linderbaum all things -- he is the best player of the bunch. And to me, he would be a targeted free agent to spend money on

I think if the Chargers spend big $$ - McGovern or Lindenbaum just because the position and neither will be franchised.

I will add one more thing. We really need to wait to see who they hire as OC. It's very possible if the hire a guy like McDaniel they may run a more finesse zone blocking scheme. They have 3 openings on the oline so that should be that hard to switch over. This will have an impact on who they sign and/or draft. I honestly don't know if Linderbaum is a fit for that or not. He may be a perfect fit. I'm not familiar with what they ran in Balt.

Re: Vrabel vs Harbaugh.

Harbaugh brought Minter and probably lured Hortiz. Those were two home runs. What Jesse did with this defense couldn’t be surpassed, IMO.

The reason Patriots are more successful is simply because Josh McDaniels is light years better than Roman.

There's been a little chatter here about replacing QJ. I'd say that's unlikely.

-100% of his 4.5 million in 2026 is *guaranteed*, so it makes no sense to cut him. We pay all his contract, even if he doesn't play.
-He wouldn't have any real trade value since he's a rental, not particularly cheap and is a limited player.

QJ doesnt "suck" overall, but I do not really want him around anymore. He is competley UNRELIABLE vs tough sticky coverage, and his route running is garbage and easily defended.

If I’m not mistaken, they will need the more athletic Cs and Gs for McDaniels scheme? If that’s right, I believe Zion and Linderbaum would be good fits. Maybe have the best of both worlds, a tough physical finesse offense.
