the last round one consideration, @least speaking for myself, and for the if and when we perhaps pass on an OG there, would be ED or LB round one ??

for myself, that comes down to Uiagalelei or CJ Allen ??

am an intangibles guy, and Matayo has them in spades far as I'm concerned, and.... he's a bit of projection, and w/opinions varied on his run defense and pass rush chops.

from what I can tell, the deal breaker would be his tackling proficiency.... if it's a liability, think the upper hand goes to the LB ??

CJ Allen is what I want in an ILB.... his run defense and tackling proficiency is something no team should go to bat without, and.... for myself, his pass defense is sufficient given what he brings against the run.

all these guys aforementioned and in the other posts, all could be round two guys, and... gonna prolly need to pull the trigger on one of 'em day one, and.... CJ Allen would not suck.

ps. also forgot to mention that part of Matayo's fall off in terms of production, could be related to the departures of Harmon & Caldwell

Lots of guards and centers have been drafted in the first round over the last twenty years. The only way quality centers drop out of the first round is when there is a deep draft. Same with guards.

I suggest current and ongoing consideration of the WR roster demands focus on QJ.

In the first 5 games QJ produced 377 yards, 13 first downs and 4 TDs (he was super!)
In his last 5 games QJ produced 125 yards, 2 first downs and 2 TDs. In this stretch he was not so good at all, w/little splash and merely a 50% completion rate. And he was utterly invisible in the Vikings game.

In fairness to Q he missed one of the last five games w/injury and may be suffering with an ankle issue. He has unique skills and we don't want to forget that, truthfully.

Reality? It's the Not-For-Long league and you gotta produce. Just as I say all this...watch him shine with a big game vs. Jaguars, LOL. The Dude is Captain Unpredictable. With that concession made I still stay: QJ gotta earn his reps for 2025 and his future in 2026. Our WR room is teeming with possibilities. QJ just might find his way to a surprisingly abrupt diminished and questionable role, if things don't change.

Dobbins signed a 1 year 2.065 mil with Denver. Dont know where you getting that figure. Got to believe we were close to that 1 year deal. He made that much with us last year but his incentive brought it up to that much.
