It appears Hortiz was outbid on some FA’s. It’s not like he didn’t try.

Before you turn Hortiz’s day into a Category 5 Yelp review, consider that we don’t know if Joe ran numbers by little Johnny and he said that’s too much baldy…reduce it by 20%.

No I didn’t. You just implied using your “mind reading” powers that I had a beef with Pipkins cause he was the one responsible for Alts injury. That’s in your post.

      I just posited the question…

The time for Spanos scapegoating is long over

These guys have done nothing but open their checkbooks on facility, coaches, players...everything the team needs

Actually we don't know that and have to wait until Pre-season. We definitely plan on him playing OT. But the reality of it lies in about 6 months time.

I'm not expert enough to understand the scheme fit for various players but I do know that someone that struggled in a power/gap scheme can also succeed in a zone one.

I am far less worried about sustained blocking from our o-line with McDaniel. The question will be if Herb can flourish in a quick read game. Hopefully it's an unlock he's been needing.
Herbert already played in a scheme that required him to release the ball quickly when he played under Lombozo...are you seriously questioning whether Herbert can adapt and excel in new offensive systems? One of the things Herbert doubters never talk about is how he's managed to find success regardless of the dysfunction of the club, new coaches, new offenses, new coordinators...it's one of the things that has made Herbert so unique and separates him from other guys, al lot of other QBs would have failed in similar circumstances...Herbert is almost idiot coach and idiot owner proof, although Roman came close to breaking him last year...

Unlock? what exactly does that imply? Herbert is already amongst the league leaders in stats to start a career in league history, why would he need to be unlocked? Are you implying that you don't think he has played well up to this point?

First, grew up in LA, 60s, 70s and till late 80s.(San Fernando Valley, oh what great times)

Have no problem with not signing all that glitters. Like the signings so far. Folks the staff has to see something in Pip and Penning that the TPB is missing. Free agency is a two street. But there is an elephant in the room. Maybe just maybe, Cali is not the destination spot we think it is. Throw out taxes and general cost of living, guys that grew up in smaller towns or rural areas don’t give a shit about the So Cal life style. Thinking in particular trench players. If they’re not from the west coast it’s not high on their list of playing there. Plus, holding onto more of their income has to be a factor.

Been in Fort Worth since 96, Texas is cool. Was in Nashville from 89-96, a blast. My point, this is a big ass country. Guys just might not dig the LA/SFO scene.

              Charger fan for life.

You are an outstanding poster of unparalleled range CBF.

It’s just vertical range lately. Up and down the same ladder repeatedly.

Probably. I imagine that it will take some tuning for McDaniels, Herbert and key players to get used to each other. It will happen surprisingly fast if they find themselves enjoying success, Meanwhile we will run the ball. There's no question about the build happening there. That also props up the passing O. It should be fun.

I'm not expecting any other significant signing.
There could be, but I can also see Hortiz waiting for draft, post draft and then cuts when teams have to get down to 53 before he adds a couple more veterans.
Who has it better than us?
