I am not giving away QJ for a draft pick. If he is traded -- he is traded. Maybe they sign Juaun Jennings and still draft WR. But the point is valid - if you trade him, better have a plan and it can't be a throwaway pick

I would in a heartbeat. There are many players who are better at contested balls in this years draft. There are many teams who need a player who is halfway good and they don't need to spend 2 seasons training him up. If we got a 2nd and a third pick I would do the deal if we don't want to pay next years tag,Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

- Tastes like Key Lime Pie or Goetze's Candy, no? (MIA/BALT)
- Acute attention to "fit-for-purpose"
- Mobile blocking in the open field and speed to torch that open field--a big theme
- The extreme care for comp picks wasn't in play in 2025; sure is this year
- My hunch is that Tomlinson is going to be a big step up from Hand, in more ways than one
- As has been discussed the 2025 offensive free agents seemed to flop, I suspect that reflects Roman's failure to have a good, clear vision of the offense to convey to Hortiz, and an out-dated approach.

You are looking at their depth chart for a base 3-4 defense, which would feature a very big Defensive End (not an edge), a nose tackle and a defensive tackle.Originally posted by wu-dai clan View PostOurlads now puts Jamaree Caldwell at defensive end
We might see such an alignment 20% of the time, but they will only have two massive boys on the field in most deployments.
Ebiogbe is 292 pounds. He's a traditional 3-4 end--don't confuse that with an edge defender (OLB). Caldwell is 330-ish, he sure won't be straying far from the interior when lining up.Last edited by YAC; 03-24-2026, 03:48 PM.Driving the Nadame Tucker bus.

A 2nd and 3rd???? Lucky if we get a 4th and 7th. If we trade him, best we get a vet in return. Possibly on the Oline.Originally posted by gzubeck View Post

Oh, my misunderstanding. Folks have been talking about trading him for a Rd3 or Rd4 pick for months- it gets confusing lol. QJ is not indispensable, he's not a unicorn. He's a piece of the WR room and in my view he's closer to the top than the bottom of the room order. Talking about dumping him for a bag of chips like some others do doesn't make sense - take him out of the room and they need to put another quality piece back in.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

People are still bitching about his drops. He had 2 drops last year, Ladd and Keenan both had 6 (according to official stat folk). Why he disappeared the second half of the season - after Joe went down - gotta go ask Gro that shit. I saw him being used as nothing more than a deep decoy to keep safeties back in several games. I saw defenders in Herbie's face right at the snap most of the year, causing Herbert to look for the shorter closer routes immediately. I saw lots of things that would be a problem for the guy they were sending to the deepest routes the most - like you and others all saw. Idunno.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

I might agree.... except what was said by Riverwalk:Originally posted by richpjr View PostI think it more likely we exercise his 5th year option than trade QJ, and I have mixed feelings about that. It will be interesting to see how McDaniel uses him if he is still here.
1) bidding on expensive FA WR’s
2) not offering him an extension
3) making him available for trade

It's all definitely something to ponder. My thing is precision roster building. With a variety of looks, packages, it will be interesting how it all shakes out.Originally posted by YAC View Post
