Per Over The Cap, if Adams was a pre-June 1 cut, New York would get cap savings of $29 million ($8 million dead money), but post-June 1, that jumps to $36 million ($2 million in dead money).
And really, looking at WR fits for the Chargers -- two names stand out: Higgins and Adams. I think both are the best, I think its "X" WR to complement Ladd McConkey.
That said -- Higgins is probably going to be like $26-28m AAV and Adams will be much less
I prefer Higgins but Adams would be a good fall back

Would the Jets take the Chargers 6th IF, big IF, the Chargers could negotiate a new deal with Adams?

As per my sig, I'm willing to forget re signing Mack and cutting Bosa if we can put that cap and money of the best available iOL
BOTH center Ryan Kelly AND Becton while we look for day 2 and 3 heirs to both in this draft and the next.
We have the cap space to give Herbert a veteran OL and guys like these won't be available again in FA.
      both w
should be able to start for the next 3 years.

Slater Zion Kelly Becton Alt in 2025.

I think the Chargers need to go younger at Edge anyway so getting Becton and a solid Center like Kelly (and drafting one)- would be my ideal solution. From what I have read, Dalman may not be the right center for the blocking scheme of the Chargers,. But Becton, Alt and Slater as your core OL for the next 3-4 years would be a solid way to go. The COlts will probably go with Borloni at Center this year so he and Becton would be IDEAL!

Some team might just reach out to the Eagles about Huff if they choose to keep say Sweat over him -might be worth a conditional 7th rounder or pick swap - JCJackson type trade for some Edge depth

          I would think so…
And Adams would obviously support it being that he wants to come back to the west coast.
I’d try an Adams deal right away, and get him locked up instead of vying with a boatload of teams for Higgins.
But I’d also still want Higgins if you can’t get Adams.

One thing to keep in mind - if Adams is cut, he will not count against the compensatory picks of the team that signs him. Higgins will.

As Andrew Brandt always states - the last two years of Adams' contract was always nonsense for the agent to get the largest AAV for a WR. Adams REAL contract was 3/68 - so $23m per year. They added $72m for "fun"

I think Adams contract will be very similar to the Mike Evans deal last year

Becton - I am going with 12-13m per year

                Poona - that seems right
Bozeman should be the veteran minimum plus a signing bonus
                Molden looks about right
Perryman was 2.5m last year - he is not getting $4m this year
                Dye looks good
Dobbins I think will be a bit higher

Slater will be around what Wirfs and Sewell received. Sewell was like $112/4 and Wirfs was $135/5. Extensions. Slater is set to make $19m this year so giving him the Sewell deal extension would put him at $131/5... so pretty close to the Wirfs deal
I don't like Mack's deal either. 3yr/70mil doesn't sound right especially for a guy his age and someone he contemplated retiring this year. I think Mack wants to retire in LA and doesn't want to uproot his family. I do think the Chargers and Mack can get creative with a win/win contract. If they can get creative with Mack's deal, they might be able to add a guy like Higgins or another Edge. I do think the Chargers and Mack can get creative with a win/win contract. Perriman and Jefferson I'm waiting till after the draft to add if I need to.

In 2026 they will have something like 22 players on contract so they can absorb some of these bigger contracts to build the team around. In 2027 it's like 10 players on contract. It's something to consider when we talk about signing some of these top tier players. They just have to be smart about who they add unlike TT and some of his ridiculous signings.
                My final Mock:

                1) Woods, Peter- DT/Clemson
                2) Pregnon, Emmanuel- OG/Oregon
                3) Moore, Derrick- EDGE/Michigan
                4) Demmings, Charlie- CB/S. F. Austin
                6) Klein, Marlin- TE/Michigan

Higgins will probably also cost more money than Adams - like $5-7m on an AAV basis. Adams is more of a bridge player - two years and we shall see. Higgins contract would be such that he is locked in for multiple years for sure or a lot of dead cap

If the Chargers get Higgins, they won't be playing the comp pick game. Of the two, I prefer Higgins. I just think Adams would be a solid option if trying to add many more players.

Right, which would make him, ....unreliable

A trade with the Saints for T. Warren ?
According to C. Reuter, the Broncos will do it with the Cards to grab Loveland.
