I have three goals for the team
    1) win 12, if not 13 games
    2) compete with KC and maybe Denver for the AFC West Title. I don't mean finishing two games back because they division winner rested players, I mean, win the damn division or at worst, one game
    3) win a playoff game - at least one

IMHO, I can't see them trading up in the 1st for a TE. WR/CB/Edge yes, TE no. The value just isn't there. Again, IMHO.
      1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
      2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
      3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
      4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

12 or 13 wins is a lofty expectation with 9 playoff teams on our schedule this season. They really better kill the draft cuz this roster isnt there in the current form

Those are based on last years teams -- things happen in the NFL. Doesn't mean they will be playoff teams this year

Honestly, with this schedule I wouldn't be surprised if they took a step backwards. This team is still a few years away from being elite. Not trying to be a Debbie downer but the schedule this year is no joke.

I don't think they take a step back -- I think they will be better than last year

This offseason showed me a lot about JH2 felt about the roster and moving forward. They weren't satisfied last year

Nine 2024 playoff teams. Stuff happens.

Most agreed not long ago that IOL was our biggest failure last season. That has been addressed pre-draft. Lack of consistency at RB- addressed pre-draft. We're better today.

"Killing" the draft is always a good idea. Hortiz is an axe murderer in the draft.

By step back I don't think the team will be worse I just think the schedule is much harder than last year. We are all praying that the coaching staff can get the players to overachieve like last year. The floor of the team was definitely raised with the free agency signings the question is it high enough.

Ok then, then how about the basic logic that we have a 2nd place schedule. Last year we had a last place schedule

It goes the other way also. For example, the Raiders have a viable coach and QB now, and will likley add uber stud Jeanty to go with Bowers. Those will be 2 harder games next year.

                        On paper
Steelers need a QB, RB and lost a lot on the Oline
                        Cowboys haven't done a thing
                        Giants are horrible
Texans - good team - need ot figure out OLine
Vikings - have to see how JJ Mc handles the starting job but have improved on the Ol and Dlines it seems
Indy -- again QB but building
                        Philly - damn good
                        Commanders - damn good
                        TN - need a QB
                        Jags - should be better
Miami - who the hell knows
                        Six AFCW games

I don't see a reason why if Hortiz has a good solid draft - they can't win 12 games or more
Every team except the Eagles, Bills and maybe Ravens, on paper, really have questions marks

We are on the same page. 11 wins this year, just to match last year, will take a considerably better football team. I dont see that from the current roster. We will see how much the draft brings but no one should be expecting 4 rookie starters every draft.
