I'm not certain he's not better than Heinecke, personally. Did anyone think Heinecke looked any good at any point last year? Granted he came into camp late, so fault noted there. Still, throwing the rock is throwing the rock and he didn't throw it very well. Just better than Stick.

I give them both pick-em even odds of coming out atop the backup pile.

Right, so we saddle Herbert with league poor weapons once again and then watch our offense not be good enough to hang with the good teams again like last year.

This offense has no ceiling. After clearly being not good enough last year or explosive enough, we have added a 3.9 yards a carry RB, an average TE, and a declining WR that is rarely healthy.

I refuse to accept the low bar that many here have.

Who says this LB is BPA at 55 anyways????

I feel pretty good one of the 3 I mentioned will be there. Higgins is the least likley yes. WR is only one example. If they picked the LB over TreyVon at 55 if he was there for instance that would be weird

Agreed. I think its actually good that Heinecke might have some competition. I was expecting a 3rd string QB that was late round pick so basically handing the job to Heinecke

Competition is good and for the cost - probably pretty lowcost
Who knows - maybe Romans creates some running plays for the guy

            Preaching to the choir!

I say all the stuff about taking BPA available and I mean it. But I truly hope BPA for rounds 1-3 are, in whatever order, TE, WR and RB

              Damn right ! More celing!!

I am cranky today! Probably like a lot of people who just lost a shit ton of money for no reason 🤪

It is true about this team though. That have filled in some depth and have a pretty good floor. But more ceiling is needed. More impact players.

                TE or WR

                RB with some juice
                IDL - pass rush
                Edge

                CB
Exactly. That is why you cant justify a LB at 55, though I do get the BPA thing. But there are 7 position groups we need to upgrade where you can choose BPAs from.

I think you would rather have Heinecke coming into a regular seaon game in relief

DL, Edge. IOL -- all after Round 3
Granted, I understand if one of those positions goes earlier
                      maybe two of them

Just my hope is that RB, TE and WR are drafted pretty high

Why not make Trey Lance a tight end?

                          😂 What?

He hardly played. Got sacked 3 times in a game Herb wasn't good in against Pittsburgh and Heinicke was 3 of 5 passing on the season. Got 10 Garbage time snaps in NE
Hardly a good enough look to say he didn't look good last season.
Lance has youth on Heinicke, that's about it it.
At least we can say Hortiz doesn't keep running Stick back out as the backup like Telesco..Hortiz told Johnboy .....I don't give a shit if you personally scouted him, he sux!
