U could be right, but our current roster is the strongest overall I've seen in a long time...I think we have a legit chance to make a SB run...at least to win a playoff game or two...Originally posted by richpjr View Post
I also think we are a year away from the complete roster turnover needed to get the team to the vision that the front office and coaching staff want and need. We will be better this year with more weapons on offense and better depth, but we still have a few question marks at corner, IOL and edge depth that will go a long way to determining how far we go this year.

Man, as much as I love Bosa, him being out until summer with a calf injury for the Bills, makes sense.

I agree. We're not perfect with stars at every position, 3 deep and are not likely to be next year or ever.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

We have a well balanced roster and coaches and should at least win a playoff game. SB potential is real IF our OL gets the job done.

You don't *have to* be the 'best' team to win it all.
To have a reasonable chance, you just have to be
(1) Good enough to earn a spot in the postseason, and
(2) Hitting your stride, as a team, when you get there.
It's not necessary to be dominant early on in the season, although that doesn't hurt. You just need to be playing your best as a team when it matters most.

true... those Rivers/Norv teams played their best in NOV and DEC, and actually won playoff games..... (ask Manning!...lol)Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View PostYou don't *have to* be the 'best' team to win it all.

Every team has strengths and weaknesses. The team is better than last year. I just think one more offseason will really allow Hortiz and Harbaugh to shape it the way they want.Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
What team in our division doesn’t have question marks at some positions and depth issues?

Yes. With today being May 27 I've been kinda antsy waiting for some news.Originally posted by Charge! View PostChargers off season schedule:

"Better today than yesterday, better tomorrow than today" is the Harbaugh way. Changes have taken place, there will be more, and the job is never done but nobody is waiting to win.Originally posted by richpjr View Post

Thank you for stating better than I did. They can still win it all this year, but they are going to need a lot of things to fall in place for them.Originally posted by richpjr View Post

2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). My bad if it came off as an excuse, it wasn't. I just think they need another year to get the roster in the vision they want it. They have about 20 guys on 1-year contracts, and they had more than that last year. Should be a good indicator they have more to do. For the team to compete this year Harbaugh and the coaching staff is going to have to get this team to overachieve much like last year. While they did get a lot better at least on paper their schedule got harder.Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
