They have about 20 guys on 1-year contracts, and they had more than that last year. Should be a good indicator they have more to do. For the team to compete this year Harbaugh and the coaching staff is going to have to get this team to overachieve much like last year. While they did get a lot better at least on paper their schedule got harder.
The option part of a "harder" schedule is three games. The rest of our opponents are more or less set in stone and are simply who they are.

"Overachieving" is a matter of opinion. Writers and some fans who underestimate the Chargers vs the coaches and players who believe in each other.

Historically (Rivers-Herbert era) that's how the Chargers usually won. I mean the different ways to win in the NFL include:

      Superior Talent.
      Luck.
      Overachieving.
      Being more physical.

The majority of our wins came via overachieving with a sprinkle of Superior Talent but still lost to 0-win teams.

With Harbs we get a crack of winning via Superior talent (blowing out lessor teams), Overachieving (getting consistent wins vs better record teams), Luck (being close in the end long enough for a ref or a play to win you a game).......and the one way of winning we forgot to experience. Winning off pure ass kicking. Being more physical.

not really.... last season we only won games twice against playoff teams.... BOTH wins were against one team.... DEN.... lol...we lost to every playopff team except DEN...
Yioou may be right , we may ONLY be playing 3 more playoff teams, but that means 3 more losses unless we learn how to beat playoff teams and/or teams that actually know how to stuff the run!!!???

No body has said anything. I am just saying it would not surprise me. Not advocating for it one way or another.

Are you assuming that the 2025 Chargers are the same in strength and ability as the 2024 team?
I would strongly disagree. But we'll prove nothing here. Let's see what happens in Brazil for starts.

They will close that faster if they end up with about 11 draft picks but don't see that happening unless they trade down to pick up picks.
Another draft plus some premium FAs on the DL/ED and we could be there. And this year's players stepping up too of course.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                  Let’s win one for Mack.

That's what we say every year and we are right about half the time.

Missing Poona Ford / Kristian Fulton, along with Khalil Mack suddenly hitting the wall, and maybe the defense goes in reverse this year.

That is amazing. That's after one year in the NFL. I really don't have any idea what these players go through. I think Henley was playing most of 2024 with a torn labrum. Wow. No wonder NFL players have such a low life expectancy percentage.

It's painful doing a couple of loads of laundry with a torn labrum. Playing football, with a torn labrum?!? In the NFL?!? Unthinkable.

I'm no stranger to pain, and have been through my share-- including a torn labrum. But I would *never* sign on for playing football with a torn labrum. Jebus! If you're going to do THAT, you might as well be playing football with a fractured skull.

How great would the Broncos have looked if they beat the Chargers twice? That would have given them a 12-5 record, and everybody would be talking about them as the primary challengers to the Chiefs' AFC West dominance.

The Broncos are a good team. And the Chargers beat them. Twice. Credit where due, brother.
