Or does that just move the problem one spot to the left? Trust in JH2 is all we have today as I saw 2 of the 3 (Zion, Boze) play 18 games last year and I can’t unsee what I saw. The reason we had no run game was not only because of the ball carrier, they missed blocking assignments on the regular. and Herbie got fucking pounded from the inside relentlessly. Same 2 guys will be different cuz … what?

Yep - Nothing but trust, I hope they are right because the rookie looks raw to me on his college tape too and doubt he’s NFL ready anytime soon.

      Trust.

I’d note he had an IOL plan last year too. But ok. Trust.

Maybe they plan to run H&H behind Becton and Alt so much that opposing D's will have to game plan and send an extra defender to those gaps to stop the leak in the dike...which will open up our passing game...but agree, not sold on Zion and Boze in pass pro based on last year's play, no matter where they move them...

I wish part of the plan was to hire a new OL coach because it's not just a personnel issue

I think this is Devlin’s last shot. If he doesn’t improve the Oline, I’d try to poach Stoutland and offer him the OL Coach and Assistant HC

Devlin's last shot should have ended with hasty dispatch in January. JR is 100% right, a LOT of last year's dysfunction MUST be placed at the feet of the line coach.

That is true, he doted on about the offensive line all during camp. I believe (I could be wrong) he even claimed it was going to be a strength of the team. Well, other than two guys, it was NOT that at all. I don't see how replacing only one of the three seemingly bad pieces and moving the remainder around is going to fix much. But, I guess I have to "trust" that they know wtf they are doing.

Again, I did not expect them to fix everything in 1-2 seasons. But I did think they would address the IOL more than they have... so far at least.

We can run Power-I to the right side 95% of the time and cross our fingers...

Aw man, Mac, that brings back memories...my dad used to chuckle every time Tony Curtis said, in that Bronx accent, "I'm a sinGer of sonGs..."

lol. yeah, no. either the same LG and OC from 2024 significantly improve or 2025 will go down as the next "if only" motherfucking angst-ridden regrettably avoidable failed chapter in our long Chargers saga. DCs will test those two immediately with creative vigor, and will quickly sniff out any remaining weakness.

If the worst case unfolds of the same as 2024, we will all die slowly every game. The question is why do some here think Zion and Bozeman will play different in 2025? beats me. If we had a new OL Coach, I could at least hope they had someone capable to teach them the basics of what every NFL defense in the league does. A basic twist shouldn't be a huge surprise. But same coach, same players - why do we expect a different result?

I'm open to persuasion, as you know ... I'll wait here ...
