Yes, liked how Nowak was utilized as in production.

Another day and I still don’t get how people pencil in Cleveland or Penning as a STARTING RG. I’ll keep reading, maybe it’ll be there someday.Originally posted by YAC View PostJust amongst the current Dolphins free agent guards are better choices than Cleveland, IMO.
Dolphin FA Guards...my informal ranking- Daniel Brunskill, 71 starts over 7 seasons. In 2024 played 684 snaps...zero sacks allowed
- Liam Eichenberg, 52 starts over 4 years
- Cole Strange, 43 starts over 4 years
Cleveland can't even find the field! Over '24 and '25 he played 52 total offensive snaps combined.
As to Slayer … folks count to 3 and think we have enough receivers without him. Memories are short around here, we need more than 3 WRs that we have confidence can produce on the opening day roster. WRs will get hurt. Very short memories.
If Slayer will sign for $5M again, do it. If he wants $15M, pfft - shop around. He won’t ever run away from DBs in a sprint to the house again, but he will get open and he will require they cover him and he will get receptions and 1Ds.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

First about Cleveland and Penning. Not starters -- competition. . I for one have never seen Cleveland play but he is signed for the vet minimum so there isn't big risk in keeping him. Penning is mentioned, and a guy like Risner too, for cheap alternatives at RG. Plus a draft pick.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

As for Allen --or the other WR - upgrade the position. Simple as that. If they need a WR in the summer, like last year, give him a call -- but there are better options first before circling back

Cleveland is on the roster... that is all. He will compete for a backup role. There is no way he beats out David Edwards and my shiny new RG.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Penning isn't even on the roster... and I see no reason to bring him back.
I love Slayer. I don't own a Herbert jersey... but I sure as fuck own an Allen jersey! Having said that, they didn't even choose to bring him back... not until Mike Dub hastily retired. We're young at WR... and it looks like the kids are ready to feed and grow. Could we get Herbie a new weapon? Sure! But why not make it a TE... where we have zero depth after Gadsden...? Smart money.Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense

I would sign Rashid Shaheed and let KA walk. By signing Shaheed you not only upgrade the WR room but you also upgrade the KR/PR position. I would also cut DD.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Shaheed is going to be a popular player in FA. Maybe the player that gets the most attention from a variety of teams - but you are right, big time upgrade at WR and the returnerOriginally posted by Chargers8491 View PostI would sign Rashid Shaheed and let KA walk. Durvernay might be another option - a bit cheaper

Yeah, he seems like a FB that would fit better with McD then with whatever GRo was trying to do.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
He signed with the UFL or a league that plays in the Spring. That said, I think he makes more sense moving forward based on other FB types McD had.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree

Here's a relevant podcast.
I didn't realize Likely would be likely hitting FA.
I'd be all for it. After beef."The best defense is more offense."
