Him being buddies with Herbert is not why got re-signed, he might be subpar or average as a starter in the NFL, but as a backup? I think he grades out pretty well when stacked up against other swing tackles...I think we're lucky to get him back considering how things are looking in free agency...grass isn't always greener...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View PostPipkins is good buddies with Herbert so that is a good thing"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Yes, I liked him as swing tackle going into last year, we just saw more of him than we like lol. He is a fine back up and he has 66 starts under his belt.

folks forget that when Slater got hurt we were feeling lucky as hell that they kept Pipkins around, then when Pip got hurt and Alt got hurt shit got bad...but even then, there was a small stretch were Pip and Hart actually looked like they were going to hold it down at a halfway decent level until both got hurt and with pip it was his 2nd major injury of the season and he looked terrible after that, the played him again but he was really beat up...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post

Manifesting my joke into reality 😅
Sometime this FA we will sign both Teller (RG) and Chris Paul (LG). And it’s because much like how we lost out on Poona Ford last year and ended up signing a bunch of other DL as depth, we will do the same for the OL position because we lost out on Zion.

The Chargers are re-signing veteran OL Trey Pipkins to a two-year, $10 million deal, per source. He can earned up to $12M with playtime incentives.
I get it. he is a swing OT and they need OT depth. I don't hate it. He isn't a guard. Salyer is probably gone
Fucking cockroach returns. Just can't get rid of him. Pipkins often injured, terrible run blocker,..... Well below average OT.
I just don't get what's going on with the OL. They couldn't get a better swing turnstile than Pipkins? Sorry I just can't defend that. Think I'm gonna 🤮

Last year, when the Chargers were in trouble at Tackles, it's when they played #4 or 5 OL
The IOL problems was at #1 players !!!!!!!!!

Slater, Alt, Biadasz, Strange, Penning, Pipkins, Cleveland, Branson, Kaltenberger...who am I missing? is it just these nine so far or is Sarrell still on the roster, I think Deculus returns as an RFA too, so we have at least 10 linemen in the roster and we should be signing at least one maybe two more veteran guards..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Apparently, Pip was the best they could find for a backup...I don't like it either, but I guess it shows how expensive the O-line market has gotten...and Trader Joe doesn't want to lose that 3rd round comp pick he just got from the Oweh signing...Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
