Hargraves and Jonathan Allen - Hargraves signed
Chubb signed
Njoku and Teller need to have some form of closure
My guess, Cam Jordan too
So maybe, just maybe, if Hortiz knows Teller is being released, he is waiting for him as that won't count in the comp pick thing. And if that happens, his off-season grade will be a solid B

yeah, the huge overlooked fact there is that most teams try hard to not let their pro bowler players leave their buildings so by definition the FA pool is biased to be PB-depleted. There is still good vs sucks and that data doesn't speak to the actual fail rate of FAs. It just implies only 5% of FAs didn't fail.Originally posted by Charge! View Post

Zion is better at OG than Pipkins, Strange and Penning. As of now we don't have starting quality OGs. Our OTs are questionableOriginally posted by sonorajim View Post
Wow! I don't share that opinion. Proof is a few months away.
Seriously? Upgrading at C and we are worse than Zion and Becton at OG? Seems like a stretch to me.
due to injuries. They are major ones and can take more than one year before they get to 100% if ever. So the situation on the O line
looks worse to me. The Chargers would do well to take an OT in the first 3 rounds. Plus get some starters at OG. Still a long ways
to go so it's not over. But right now, we are worse off at O line than we were last year at the start of the year.

Not really. Zion might be stronger but he misses a lot of blocks. I had hopes that could simplify his responsibilities and make him more effective. Pipkins is a RT basically. LT not so much, OG even less. Strange was an effective starter. Zion was not. Penning? I'm interested to see them, among others in TC. It's a new day on OL with McDaniel, Barry and C Tyler B.Originally posted by charger1_sj View Post

For me the thing is O-line, O-line, O-line...I don't give a shit about only having 5 picks, this team has a strong core of players, but they can't come out of the draft with out drafting at bare bones minimum of two O-linemen in this draft and I mean in the top 4 rounds...they need to draft O-line or I'm going to be riding the engine of the negativity train...no more fucking around, get some young studs in here to fill out the interior of our line...Originally posted by charger1_sj View Post

someone here mentioned that Branson looked good against the Broncos in the week 18, I can't remember who, so if Branson pulls a Vidal hen all we need is two more guys, one center and another guard..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I think many of us are going to have to adjust to the new offensive blocking schemes. It ain't gonna be like GRo, Devlin and Bozeman only done better.

By-and-large, I agree with you, at least in spirit. At the same time, I understand that the best value at #22 overall could very well be something other than O-line.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

And if that 'BPA is an Edge? Or DT? I can accept that. I support the idea of *not* drafting a B+ IOL when an A- player at a different position of need is there for the taking.
But if the BPA at #22 turns out to be is a TE, or WR, or DB... you'll have a much more difficult time getting me on board with making that pick. Instead, I'd be screaming for Joe Hortiz to trade down a handful of spots, and collect a couple of Day 3 picks in exchange.
For the Chargers? The IOL is the leak in the boat that-- if not addressed before leaving port-- is certain to result in the ship taking on water and sinking once out at sea. The IOL just can't be fucking ignored, and we all know it.
Beachcomber might be able to tell us about the depth of IOL in this draft class, and how that's likely to impact the distribution of IOL players on Day 2 of the draft.
But all I can say is that, if either Vega Ioane or Kayden Proctor is available at #22 and Joe Hortiz takes someone else? That player had better be special.Last edited by Ghost of Quacksaw; 03-11-2026, 05:37 PM.

I would avoid Proctor .... he has bust written all over him.... oversized...too fat, like most bama OT's and OG's....and like so many bama OL busts.....
