Or he will bust as he has so far. If he does its only a 3.5 mil dead cap if we cut him.

I think he pissed off the Cowboys for saying something. So maybe this is the real Rickey Scoops. I will ask Allbright

If this is true, what it tells me, like the dude Dixon Snyder, who I thought was bogus,. it tells me the Chargers are getting a second comp pick that will cancel out Jennings. I doubt Hortiz signs Jennings to cancel out Oweh
That was also posted yesterday and we havent seen anything else on it so.......

It really is not about the money. It is about having guys who can play well on the field when injuries hit the o line and they 100% will.

Once we signed Tyler B, we were down to 2 (Smith was never going to be an option for us), and probably realistically 1 given how poorly Seumalo was at run blocking this past year (don't throw the PFF grades at me, I don't know what they are, but his run blocking was pretty bad from watching a lot of Steelers games, plus he is a poor fit for outside zone). So that left Edwards. If the reports are true that we tried to throw the same amount as Cleveland and had succeeded, I think there would be a riot. So, what other choices were there. People are suggesting we get in a bidding war over a collection of poor performing characters who ... wait for it ... are at best a very marginal improvement over the guys we had last year.

2). There is a HUGE difference between throwing money at a problem and FIXING a problem. Again, throwing huge amounts of money for guys who represent a very marginal increase over the performance we had last year just seems stupid to me and masking the fact that we probably didn't actually fix the problem. We would have thrown a lot of resources on band aids ... but again, not a fix.
I think a lot of fans just don't understand McD's style of offense. The OGs are not a high priority. You just have to look at the past several years to see that. Plus, I think fans are still suffering from PTSD from last year.
          1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
          2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
          3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
          4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Then in that case, he wont make the team lol. IMO he stinks....but im not out there coaching him. The quickly took him out of playing OT. If he doesnt show well early at OG , he will be gone. Do you pay a guy 4.5 mil to be a blocking TE a few plays a game?

Then we should of kept Bozeman to play OG ....sorry i dont buy it. Its the same thing said that Staley didnt value good LBs yet they just spent 11 mil a year on Kaden Ellis and our LBs then are a reason we sucked with Murray and Kendricks as starters while Daiyon was 3rd string.

Who wouldnt want good players at any possition? Maybe he dont require pro bowlers but you need to be good. We will get a couple more OGs via the draft and releases.

I have been holding out hope for Penning. I guess because he can move, he has a nasty streak and his draft pedigree...but Berry has to get more out of him and he has to play better than last year to be of real use

Hopefully McD is wiser after just drafting Jonah Savaiinaea to fix the Dolphins offensive line.

I get it, but everyone had their hopes that we would go out, spend a ton of money and the problem was going to be fixed by Monday at 1pm. As I was trying to get people to realize, that was NEVER in the cards.

This is the best roster the Chargers have had in a long time, so while my PTSD symptoms are right up there with others, it is mixed in with some other emotions. I get it. But when I chart out fixes, the answers are just not as simple and obvious as many are making it out.

I would still go hard after the Cleveland OG (Teller and Bitonio). Keep bugging Zeigler to change his mind. try and get 2 IOL, who could challenge Bitonio/Teller/Zeigler.

                    Then the OL looks like
                    LT- Slater/Pipkins
                    LG-Bitonio/Rookie1/Rookie2
                    C- Biadasz/Strange/Rookie2
                    RG - Teller/Penning/Rookie1/Rookie2
                    RT - Alt/Penning
                    TE- OG/Kolar/?????/Penning (blocking TE only)

Has anyone even looked at Pregnon video ?

You would see a zone guard with borderline round one talent level. In a weak draft, a slight overdraft with major impact for the 2026 Chargers is the way to go.

Emmanuel has ridiculous wingspan and quick feet, which you would see immediately. This only expands his effectiveness in zone blocking.

He is a certified Stunt Sniffer. What is not to like ?

I have been leading this wagon train for a while now. With each IOL signing by other teams, observing the need for sedatives amongst all in Chargerland has been comical.

Sometimes we just try too hard.
I love Pregnon and mentioned him several months ago. IMHO, he is a better scheme fit than Vega. With that said, I don't think it matters as I don't think the Chargers are going to select an OG until the later rnds. The history of McD's schemes/past OGs and what the Chargers have done up to this point in free agency suggest they don't value the OGs as much as they do other positions.

Boz retired kind of hard to get him to play OG..lol.

No doubt they would want good players at any position. The point is, they are not going to spend a lot of capital (money/draft pick) on that position (OG), IMHO.

Big difference is Staley's track record sucks. McD's track record is much better.
