The difference is that there is more supply of usable players. IOL was scrapping the bottom of the barrel even before players were signed. There are still a number of serviceable player at edge, even after 4 days of FA.

Edge is also deep in this draft class. Hoping to come away with some combo of Edge/OL/DT in the first three rounds this year.Originally posted by Steve View Post

The dude in the LSU hat is an idiot. Just throw money at an OG because the optics are bad is just dumb. He wants Hortiz to overpay for an OG and doesn't care if it doesn't work out because the optics are bad. So, Hortiz's overpays for an OG to protect Herbert and if he doesn't work out Herbert still gets killed and lose money but hey at least Hortiz did something and spent stupidly.Originally posted by Xenos View Post1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree

An example of our #1 need now is a receiver who can make plays downfield, via speed and separation, ala Tyreek (hold your nose, and make sure he passes the physical.) Another example is a receiver who consistently wins at the catch point downfield, ala Mike Williams, Mike Evans or Denzel Boston.. Alex Pierce does both.Originally posted by Lone Bolt View Post
Playmaker refresh? Hampton, Vidal, Gadsen, Q, Harris, KLS, Ladd...how much fresher can you get? All on Rookie contracts...except Vidal as UDFA...but he is only yr 3...
Maybe we should give these young playmakers a chance...with an actual oline, and an innovative offensive scheme...before we "refresh" them...
We have shown interest in this type, as have many other teams. Which leads to this. The coming NFL trend on defense will be to mimic the Seahawks. Light boxes, Two High Safeties, cloud coverages, umbrella, what ever you call it. Up front it's waves of rushers. We need a DT who can anchor + pressure ala Byron Murphy II , Quinnen Williams, Jeffery Simmons, or Kayden McDonald. We also need EDGE to give us depth, or waves.
BTW I am gonna need those TP Reports by next week...Last edited by wu-dai clan; 03-12-2026, 07:12 PM.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26

The Seahawks brought their corner effectively on a number of blitzes. Unlike Minter, O'Leary is thought to be fond of blitzing from anywhereOriginally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

It will probably be a burner for McD, to make our offense hum like early '25 Colts offense.
One C/G.
I see our DB groups as OK.
Hit it serious at EDGE/DT for O'Leary.
As you indicate we must.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26

This is Mike McDaniels team now
can you legitimately support a player who abuses women????? I can't!.... most of the Chargers podcasts can't.... many other fans cannot!
No way Harbaugh wants a bad person like that on his team!

Unless they don't get Teller or Bitonio...then I don't think you can leave IOL until round 3Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post
This is what I think happens. First 2 rounds will be DT and Edge, then maybe an IOL in the 3rd. I do think they trade back in the 1st.

Wow. Thieneman, huh? Interesting. Hurst is a solid WR. I think you've been high on him for a while, man. He’s good.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View Post
Even if we don't, I still think it's going to be defensive heavy draft. Been saying this for a while. At this point I feel the Chargers will either draft a WR if one of the top ones fall or if they don't sign/trade for one or they will take Thieneman in the 1st. I could see something like Thieneman rnd1 and Ted Hurst rnd 2. Hurst would be a perfect fit in McD's offense, IMHO.
