Blake Miller and Iheanachor move pretty good too...

There will be options at #22...Iheanachor is a piece of clay, also...a relative football newbie...with a nasty attitude...

Miller has a punch...the kind that sends defenders stumbling in their pursuit along the wall created in a wide zone...

I like all 3 to be there when we pick....and Id happily take any one of them.

I haven't watched much of Miller or Iheanachor. If they fit our scheme, then that makes for a lot of possible prospects @LG.
There could be a steal in the 2nd round for us... I've been limited in my targeting/researching, convince that 3rd and 4th round IOL's are the sweet spot. Maybe it's the 2nd-4th that is the sweet spot. But I certainly choose an IOL candidate in the 1st... if they slid to #22. BPA all the way!

I am not sure I see Gaither - meaning he will dog it. But I do see how players from good teams leave for free agency and without the same coaching and infrastructure, they may not pan out. Look at Sneed in TN, away from Spags and all that talent. Oweh is being paid as an Edge 1 player. With the Chargers, he was Edge3 - Tuli and Mack did the dirty work to allow him to just rush the passer. So, Chaisson was signed by the Commandoes but again, he is more twitchy/bendy and not the Edge setter that Mack is. Chaisson seems duplicative with Oweh

So for that reason, Oweh at 25 - over paid. Clowney or even Cam Jordan can do the same if they have Tuli, Mack and the Dline with Elston in place.

Not blaming Oweh for taking the bag - but think the Chargers were smart for not giving the bag

What OL do you like at 22? I think Ioane for sure. Fano? Lomu? Proctor? Mauigoa?

Caleb Lomu is a highly athletic, technically polished 6'5"-6'6", 308-313 lb offensive tackle from Utah projected as a 2026 NFL Draft top prospect. While he plays left tackle, his elite zone-blocking, lateral quickness, and ability to get to the second level make him an effective fit at guard, though he is considered a true tackle prospect.

Out of curiosity, how do you know this?

I've read comparisons to Connor Williams and Troy Fautanu, who played both guard and tackle in college or the NFL.

am guessing you’ve watched him play…. would you waste that footwork @guard ? and his weakness is his anchor…. why exacerbate the problem inside ??

Kind of depends. Fano's 32-inch arms probably limit him to guard-only for most teams. He doesn't really fit a power-gap scheme either... We'll see where he lands. At this point in their careers, Fano is probably better... but Lomu is young and probably has a higher ceiling. But Fano is NFL ready now.

Fano is going to be a pro bowl OG imo. He moves with an unusual ease and composure.

I have not. Utah is not in the rotation when I watch college football on Saturdays.

Diamond in the rough, is why I come on here to see what the funk is going on. We have upgraded with the co ordinator, center, full back, and blocking tight end. If the two all pro tackles come back, that is quite a good base to start with. You can miss me with the guards don’t have to be great in this system, but why not try to get the best dudes to do it. To me, the best guards left are in the draft. All the guards we have now are depth pieces. Starting two rookies sandwiched between very good players can work. Especially with the new oc who has taken nobody’s, and made them viable players.

Yes, it hurts we seem to be scrapping the bottom of the barrel, but I’ve seen to many overplayed free agents to not let this effect me. I won’t worry until training camp starts and we can’t get the offense line unit working as one. That’s all I want, players that work well together in this system. I have very little doubt the new oc, isn’t built for this.

When Jim fires his best friend to hire someone not from his coaching tree, is a sign he is going for it, with everything he can. Better than yesterday and better tomorrow…
