Good points. Look at Ben Johnson. He is just the OC - having a lot of fun dialing up fun plays for that offense Now, Johnson might want to be a Head Coach someday but the situation has to be right. And you mention the Raiders, I also think the Saints would be a terrible job.

So Minter can be choosey on where he goes.

You play the schedule you have... and understand that even teams that are having a tough year can beat you (or any other team) on any Sunday. Luckily, we haven't lost to any sub-500 teams this year. The Cardinals loss was disappointing because we blew opportunities and I feel like we're the better team. But to obsess over it... or broadly characterize a team based on that one game...? Ridiculous. The Steelers and Chiefs losses are irrelevant now... and certainly don't reflect our team's potential right now. The team is still learning many of the offensive and defensive philosophies and how to execute certain plays. We're no where near a finished product.

Shout out to you... you've been wanting an elite TE for 2 years in a row now. You didn't get exactly what you wanted... but there wasn't the incessant whining and complaining. You're able to access coaching/play-calling through a football lens... rather than an "I-didnt-get-what-i-want-so-im-throwing-mud" kind of lens.
I didnt and loved Bowers for a few years lol, and really liked Kincaid but i said many times i understood the Alt pick before they made it. I get it, Bowers was just an elite TE and multi possition guy with good speed. He is tearing it up for the Raiders and i HATE that he went to them.

There are some pretty decent TEs in this class but none are to Bowers talent but few good pieces to plug in for us. Today id say Warren is a 2nd rounder. Mid to late 2nd, possibly top of 3rd at worst, just depends on his combine which will matter more than they let on. He does many things but not to Bowers level.

Kincaid was a late first, has excellent hands, good movement and seems a bit quicker than Warren so we'll see. I think Harbaugh would want his guy Loveland but it just may not happen and seems he isnt a homer for all his Michgan guys. He will be OK with what we need or what Hortiz wants at that time. Got a long ways to go so i just cant say what we will or should do.

I think one of the reasons Jim is so good is he hires top notch personnel and he listens to what they think. He won’t always agree but he listens. There are a lot of folks on that staff that are NOT Michigan homers, he’s not gonna drive the club to mandatory UM picks.

Hoveland would be a great pick, not knocking him at all

I was on the Bowers train from day one but can't cry over spilt milk.

As far as Warren goes he is starting to grow on me. The dude can do it all. He can block, catch, and even play QB even though he is a southpaw. I've been watching some of his highlights from this year and he is really impressive. He plays like a Harbaugh type player. He continues to play like he has been I won't be disappointed if he is the 1st pick of the Chargers. Need to look at the other TEs in the draft to get a better comparison.

My guess is that Ben Johnson goes to the Bears to mentor Caleb Williams. I’m pretty sure Chicago is going to fire Eberflus.

No doubt, Bowers was better than the TE's in this class. Of course, we'll be saying that for years to come.
I like both Loveland and Warren. I would have no problem picking either one in the late 1st round. I trust Joe Hortiz.
The kid from Bowling Green is really good, too. And I like Jayson Taylor's kid (Mason) too. 2nd rounders...? We'll see.

BPA every round... and we'll be good. Have to re-sign/sign free agents first... then we'll see who falls to us in the draft.

Hayden Hurst has been a waste of a roster spot and Stone Smartt is giving us next to nothing. Luckily Dissly is having his best season but he's not made to be a Kelce type TE. Big need.

the chiefs seem to have 3-4 guys that can play that role.

I think you have to let Hurst and Smartt go next year and draft one of Loveland/Warren/Fannin Jr. Don't think Loveland will be there when the Chargers pick. I am more than ok with either taking Warren or Fannin Jr in 1st. Both are really good TEs that fit a huge need for this team. Fannin Jr might be available in the 2nd but not sure I would want them to wait till the 2nd. Both could be gone.

Still and Hart were 5th round picks. Gates was a UFA.

Harbaugh knows the college players like no other and Hortiz will scour the draft and FA’s. I’m not worried.
