His YAC has always been there butOriginally posted by CivilBolt View Post
I say a lot of max protect and make McConkey the hot read and let him do his magic. If they double him, let QJ do shallow crossing route hoping he would get some YAC.
That catch and run where he laid into the DB while running out bounds was a moment for him and for me as a fan.
like the "QJ Grinch", my respect grew X 10.
I'm still going to hold my breath when the balls in the air, but he's a Roman-type weapon. I understand why Roman isn’t giving up on him, and more importantly why Herbert isnt."The best defense is more offense."

I don't think anything short of being bed ridden and strapped to a hospital bed is going to keep that dude out. If I'm his IOL I'd be embarrassed that he's beat up like that.
I'm just thinking aloud and figure Tampa Bay isn't as important as Denver and even Denver isn't as important as a 95% healthy Herbert. I get that we can't play scared, but I'll take a healthier Herbert and shot at the 7th
over the 5th seed and a banged up, hero Herbert that can't move in the pocket."The best defense is more offense."

Tampa has one of the worst defenses in the league -- and against the pass, even worseOriginally posted by 21&500 View Post

Winfield and a couple other safeties might be out
Denver has a better defense
Now, I get beating Denver is more important than beating Tampa as an AFC game, head to head tiebreaker, etc - but 1) you can only play the current game, don't go chasing wins thinking ahead, play the next game 2) if resting Herbert - rest him off the short week against the BETTER team especially if Denver and Houston win this week

I remember watching a gimpy Jim Plunkett limp his way though the Chargers to win a SB.Originally posted by 21&500 View Post

Are you kidding? The rest of these games are meaningful and need to be won, unless you want the Broncos taking our spot. What they need to do is "rest" Pipkins for the rest of the season, because he's going to put Herbert on a stretcher. I don't understand why he's still starting. He's absolute ass in run blocking too, so it's not like he's doing us any favors in that department either.Originally posted by colorado View Post

While Pipkins is still a starter, you said that he might get Herbert on a stretcher, then we have to give Herbert a rest while Pipkens is still out there to heal some on the sprained ankle and swollen knee and put trust in the backup. And thank goodness it won't be stick. And you're right about needing to win out the rest of the season, everyone has to contribute. It's a team effort, imo We don't need to lose Herbert because we allowed him to hobble around in a game I think we could win without him. I've got knee issues, I know you don't fool around with those.
And fuck the Broncos...fuck them in the neck.
EDIT: I did hear Herbert was back at practice today. He's one tuff mofo...Last edited by colorado; 12-12-2024, 06:38 PM.
