Every player is one injury away. The guy is a Jamiri Gibbs clone. If you can pair that with another RB and keep him fresh, watch out..

So, “IF” that’s true, what do you give up for Tee? What’s he worth?
Or do you just wait for Devante to be released…
I'm not giving up high picks for anyone, we have a team to build ourselves.

A non exclusive franchise tag means if we make an offer to him and they don't match, we give up two first round picks. Imo Higgins isn't worth that. I don't think any team will do that.
I wouldn't give up 1 first rounder for him.

He is great true, serious injury history and concerns seems like Dobbins 2.0 but I would risk it in 3rd

I like Matavao if they go 2 TE's in the draft.

I don’t see them bringing in 10 or 12 FA’s just cause they’ve got money to burn. I also think they make a concerted effort to get Slater done and keep a lot of the guys they have to resign. It’s a good group.
If Adams is released, he doesn’t count against cap calculations - true/false? ??

I guess the Charger could sign a bunch of mid to low tier free agents and get blown out of the PO's again but hey they will 70 mil under the cap. The Chargers need talent and unfortunately talent cost money.
Slater will be 25M+ in 2026? Guessing how they structure the years … if they play out the option year at $19M and his new deal starts in 2026, it would be less but more than 10M?

I just don't get this sentimental shit about "our guys" and loving playing for Harbaught

"Our Guys" haven't won a division in 16 or 17 years

"Our Guys" have won what is it, two play-off games in how many years. McCoy beat Cincinnati but got beat by Denver the next week; Lynn beat the Ravens and got whipped by the Patriots and Staley gave up a 27 zip lead and Harbaugh lost in a wild card game. Thats 2-4 in 12 years

I don't need "our guys" -- find better players that win more games.

Like I said, I don't need to keep any current free agents if there are better players to sign from other teams.
I don’t buy the “harbaugh knows him … knows the system … etc” arguments for keeping past players. The main benefit is they don’t count against any comp calculations but otherwise I am with you - if you’ve lost with the players you had, don’t be afraid to try new ones.

the comp game is not as important as the actual games. Its one of many tools for roster building, not THE tool

In his second mock of the 2025 NFL Draft, Daniel Jeremiah forecasts something we haven't seen in years: a first-round run on running backs. See his full first-round projection, 1-32.

I’d love LVR to take Sanders …

I’m good with going to the Hamptons … it will be lovely there …

It would depend on how they structure the contract and how many years. When I played around with it, I did a 140mil/4yr (100mil with 40 mil signing bonus) deal but think it will be 5 yr with void years. The 1st year was 9mil. the 2hd year and future years would depend how they structure the contract. 2nd year could be 10mil but years 3 and 4 would be like 40mil. Currently the Chargers will have close to 200mil in cap space in 2026 so it wouldn't make sense for the 2nd year to be so low. I think 25mil sounds right for the 2nd year.

This is why I think Hortiz is going to load up this year. They have plenty of cap space this year and going forward they are going to have a lot more. They could basically rebuild this team at critical spots this year and continue to build through the draft.

I agree with this. This is the year to load up in free agency and backload some deals because if Hortiz is good at the draft like we think he is - 25, 26 and 27 draft classes will bring in cheap talent to offset the higher salaries that certain players will get if they are mostly backloaded.

If you look at OTC, to your point -- the Chargers for 2025 and 2026 are right up there in combined cap space. So Hortiz and Maguire can use this year to get some deals that fit the cap, and in 2026 and 2027 expand the cap as they know they will have four draft classes by 2027 of cheaper players on rookie deals to help offset

The key to good cap management is drafting and developing.

And it will be interesting to see who is released as maybe there are some bargains out there

Riddick said it this morning on Get Up - it is all identifying players and they were comparing the Eagles and Cowboys - Roseman does a better job. They spend the money but they also draft well and hit on cheap veterans.

Two names I am looking at for DLine now over Mack. Osa is DT and Dayo is more DE but players on the rise, along with Sweat.. Spending on the Front 7 just doesn't have to be Edge.
