I believe that’s true. I think the Jets save 29 million and he’s an 8 million dead cap hit for them if they release him, off the top of my head.

Osa will likely cost more than Williams. I do like Osa and would not be disappointed if they sign him.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Riddick said it this morning on Get Up - it is all identifying players and they were comparing the Eagles and Cowboys - Roseman does a better job. They spend the money but they also draft well and hit on cheap veterans.
Two names I am looking at for DLine now over Mack. Osa is DT and Dayo is more DE but players on the rise, along with Sweat.. Spending on the Front 7 just doesn't have to be Edge.
Osa Odighizuwa
Dayo Odeyingbo1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

I have to wait and see what his combine numbers are, I'm not sure Zabel is 'plug and play' he did have some nice reps at the Senior Bowl but he might need a year or two to develop...with the so-so talent on O-line in this draft, caution must be exercised to not "overdraft" a guy just because of need...Zabel looks a bit smaller than what they have him listed at...Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View PostIs Grey Zabel in the conversation at #22?
'Small school' seems to be the only hesitation point. But if he's the answer, moving forward, at Center? I say YES.
I mean, sure...it depends on who else remains on the board when Hortiz is on the clock, of COURSE But if Zabel checks all the boxes at Center, I would not be disappointed, at ALL, to spend #22 on him."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Mark Andrews will turn 30 in September, he should still have a couple of solid years left, I'm not super familiar with his injury history but if I had to guess I'd say he's durable but only because I don't recall hearing or reading that he misses a lot of time...he would certainly be a huge upgrade over what we've had, that's for damn sure...Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
Same, pass on Andrews. Older player. I dont want to give up any draft assets, not for a position that is quite strong in the draft full of longer term solutions. Same reason I am not interested in any FA RB save for our own guy Dobbins who is a great leader on our team.
I would be ok with a FA WR like Adams as WR isnt so strong this draft and it takes a position of need off the draft shopping list, save for maybe a later round developemental prospect."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. that's not lack of talent, that just looks like guys not communicating or understanding what their assignment is...Bozeman looking to the right expecting Zion to pick that DT up and Zion looking off to his left expecting a blitzer or something, that's just stupid shit that shouldn't happen at that point in the season...I'm thinking that could be an O-line coaching issue...IDK...Originally posted by Boltjolt View PostJust a reminder of what this team needs most via FAcy and draft for better depth. This imo *****s DL but we can use that too.

I would say that this draft has a lot of projects after the first two guys, some of these guys are going to be overdrafted due to team need but they won't be guys that will be ready to contribute right away...ironically some of my favorite TE prospects in this draft are guys that are scheduled to go somewhere between rounds 4-7...Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
It’s a really deep draft at TE. Let’s just draft 2. As of right now they got 11 freaking picks.
And yes, Gesicki is just a tall WR, who cannot block. I’d rather draft a guy who can catch and develop him into a good blocking TE. This coaching staff is stellar. Let’s just use them to draft and develop."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. My thing is more allocation of resources. I know Edge is talked about but if you have $20m to spend - it doesn't need to be $15m on Edge and $5m on DT - it can be the other way around if the the option is better at DT and you can find a solid Edge.. its not lose WR making $10m so have to pay WR $10,mOriginally posted by Chargers8491 View Post

Its both......lack of awareness....call it what you want, Hebert was getting killed in that game. Thats just one play, there are several others and two ankle injuries during the season.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

this is why the draft is such a crapshoot sometimes, you are projecting by using traits and limited bits of data...Zabel had some impressive reps at the Senior Bowl for sure, but he also had some concerning ones...he's not as strong as he should be for a guy projected to play right away...I think he's a year or two away from being special but I could be totally wrong, I was wrong about Alt in that same regard, I thought Alt wasn't strong enough to start year one...Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
I just get a little twitchy when folks want to take a guy from a college that plays glorified high schools and just throw him into the NFL…
I just cannot see the FO thinking that guy is a more talented 1st round pic than about 50 guys at that pick.
Maybe in the 3rd, I’d say sure, take him, but damn at 22?!?!
But if that’s what they want, who am I to question it…"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Im not down on him, just dont want to trade for him. TE is deep , draft one...maybe two and if need be get a 1 year vet as i mentioned that will be cheaper til the rookie is ready to take over 100%. No need to give up a pick for one year rental. Doubt we will resign him....and why should we if we draft one early.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
Whoa, you're really down on Andrews...I would trade a mid day 3 pick for him in a heartbeat...I think that playoff game has people forgetting what a good player he is...
If we only keep him for a year then cool, but then we are giving up a pick for it. If they release him then by all means....get him for a year or two. Granted Andrews dont turn 30 till the season starts but this TE class is filled with young guys to build with.
Everyone keeps talking about getting younger then we mention all these 30+ guys we should get. Nothing wrong with a couple of vets but every older guy mentioned asside from Mack is an offensive guy.
