A couple thingsOriginally posted by dmac_bolt View Post
I thought Chubb,Tua, Murray all have signed with new teams (maybe some of the others too)? NFL rules are complicated ...
Joe is at the Tellers window this morning, making a deposit ... hang tight all!
1) the Texans are also in on Teller. Saw a post on Twitter and it was a meme of a guy standing at the counter in a bank with the word "TELLER" (to his right by way) of the person behind the counter -- so there is competition. The twitter post meaning the Texans would put Teller at RIGHT guard. tifwiw
2) Bolt Pulse guy also says the Chargers are interested in Jennings - which I think is the guy Allbright was referring too in his twitter response. That said, I doubt Hortiz will give up a 3rd round comp pick for Jennings when you can just sign Mooney and keep the comp pick

This is fair. That isn't to say I am not opposed to improving the back up QB position - -just not sure the options are better than Trey Lance. Flacco maybe. I doubt Tyrod Taylor wants anything to do with the Chargers training staffOriginally posted by jamrock View Post
Judging Lance on a game played with offensive back ups against one of the top defenses in the league that needed the game is ridiculous
McD said he wants an offense that has plays that all of the QBs can run

He is not just above average, he is very, very good guard. Teller is also a good guard and is only 31 vs 35 yrs old BitonioOriginally posted by Boltx View PostIf Bitonio doesn't retire, he might be the better one-year option IMO. I know a lot of Browns fans, they think Bitonio even at his age is still above average.Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

I would welcome Bosa back. He wore down at the end in Buffalo ... his plays would need to be greatly limited, and then there is his injury history with the Chargers.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
Bosa or Clowney make sense post draft...
Prefer him to Clowney.

Is there anyone out there by now worth a massive contract and a 3rd round pick?Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
I know it may not make people happy but I truly think Hortiz is playing the comp pick game. Right now, he has the Oweh pick as a 3rd. That is a good pick
If Salyer or Hand sign - he could possibly get a 4 or 5 for Zion since Strange or Kolar could be crossed off. Or, he could sign than sign a player of like value and keep the Oweh 3rd rounder. I really think he wants to keep that Oweh third rounder
So of your names above - Danna was released. Ebikete is interesting
I think Bosa, Miller and Uche are done.
Clowney and Cam Jordan are two names I like in that one year, under $10m range, better than Dupree but Hortiz will still need Edge in R1 or R2. He might be waiting for May 1 - the best of the rest -- because that is when the comp pick formula doesn't matter

It had something to do with Minter studying that Tennessee team: him having a close affiliation with a nearby University in Tennessee as their DC.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Don't forget the Titans for some reason. And I partially get it - you know the players. But you are also right, there are other good players out there!
Though I do like the Kolar, Ingold and Mitchell signings
Strange is tbd.
Hortiz is super cautious ..... he wants to be GM 10 years from now: so being a steady very good team and not a sporadically great one is his aim.

Agree with you. It was, however, the sole data point we got on Trey Lance for the entire season. It's a data point that doesn't allow us to draw any conclusions about what Lance offers, moving forward. Any questions we had about him remain unanswered.Originally posted by jamrock View Post

No, I truly don't think there is a player worth giving up a 3rd when there is comparable talent.Originally posted by powderblueboy View Post

Now I hope Hortiz can finalize Teller as that is the most important thing. But say he gets Teller, this will be his thought process
WR: Juaun Jennings or Darnell Mooney / 2027 3rd round pick -- no brainer.
Safety: say he wants to add a safety. With the current calculation Brisker woud cost a comp pick. Just bring back Unc Jefferson and call it good.
Say Salyer signs for enough to offset Strange or Kolar - that moves Zion up to a 4th round comp pick
Maybe at this point Hortiz is willing to offset Zion with Jennings. I doubt he does though.
