i agree 100% that the Broncos win was impressive, but the last 2 weeks were not impressive.

the loss to AZ really hurt us in the standings. for today, a win is a win, but this was a one score game early in the 4th quarter (at home) - against a back-up QB who got benched.

edit: for comparison's sake, imagine us trotting out Stick as our QB next week...

my post is referring to the feast or famine mood here - we throw a parade and tout our defensive stats when we shut down teams like Carolina and New Orleans, and then we want to fire half the team when we lose a game.

on the huge plus side today - Herbert and Ladd both looked great.

Rattler was a 5th round pick this year.
Heaner is only in his second season as a late 4th round comp pick from Fresno.

Neither one at this stage are good backup options but Rattler it's said they like his upside so they are giving him the reps.

Now sure Stick is better than them lol

Rattler was a 5th round pick this year.
He has more upside than Heaner and Heaner is only in his second season.
They are just giving the reps to Rattler is all but right now they are pretty equal and Heaner didn't play great either.

i almost adjusted my comment to Heineke after i wrote it, but Stick's name is more fun. either way, if we beat Carr today, the win would be more significant.

also, is not about impressing people or style points (I never even look at power rankings), but when we let a New Orleans team with a backup QB run neck and neck with us for most of the game, it is a little disheartening.

last week one of the sportscasters said that the Jury was still out on the Charger defense, he said that they had yet to play an elite QB, but our guys played Patrick Mahomes week four and held the Chiefs to 17 points in a game that might've been competitive if we hadn't been so short handed on the O-line, both of our starting tackles missed that game, correct?

I think it is fair to say the Chargers and Broncos are pretty close. Broncos are 5-3, Chargers are 4-3. Both teams are beating the easier teams on the schedule and losing to the good teams they play.

Happy with the win today but niothing I saw from the o line and run game today that makes me confident we will hang with the Ravens and teams like that coming up later. I think we will have to play better next Sunday to beat the Browns actually. That will be a harder game than today

I'm sorry but we beat the Broncos' decisively. That game was never close.
Both the Ravens and Browns are up/down... inconsistent. Both teams lost to the Raiders... aren't the Raiders one of the "easier" teams...?
Every game is "hard" in the NFL... it's the NFL.

Like you, I'm not happy about the OL play... it has to get better.
