Two seasons in a row being one and done, you have to consider all options to improve your team to get you over the hump.

It seems like Hortiz has taken the attitude that we are going to try and retain every player on the team and add a few journeymen here and there.

Bill Walsh also used rotations on his offensive line. Most notably Bubba Paris and Steve Wallace during the 49ers' Super Bowl season in 1988. Just sayin'. Lol.

Still I always expect James to play the same way Seau always did. He didn't have a Derwin James game yesterday. If he's not playing well it's hard to have dominant games and convincing wins.

I don't recall James or Mack taking s single snap in the preseason. I don't fault them or the coaches as this is the current state of the NFL because when you are one of the most expensive horses (I know, terrible analogy) you stay in the stable till the actual race time. Every time in the preseason when I saw Derwin of the sidelines, a reporter was asking fluff questions and congratulating him for being the highest paid Safety again. All fine and dandy and I don't hate but screw this first game as it is done and booked, just learn from it, stop reading your own accolades to go show that you were worth the contract. If you get injured, you get injured as this is a violent game but don't half a** it, give it all you've got.

you refer to preseason games. DJ and Mack worked harder than the rest in drills and preparation. O'Leary's D system didn't get any exercise until yesterday. Likewise McDaniel's offense. OC and DC weren't ready.

Awosika was fine 0 pressures 0 sacks...highest grade on OL of 85 Alt and Slater were in the 70s

And how about RG. LIke I said all off season Cole Strange sucks. He gave up a team high 5 pressures and had a ridiculous PFF grade of 10.6

So who got the pressure and sack given up sack in the Herbert blitz? Somebody had to get it. They give it to Herbert?

he isnt great at anything

I’d rather have an above average real linebacker and safety.
