I don't believe him for one second that Bosa will be back on the roster making $25m. I don't mean just the cap hit as they could give him a $24m signing bonus with multiple void years and lower his cap number down to $6m or something.

That said, I don't even think Bosa will be on the roster . Just just isn't sayinig that now.

Hortiz is just attempting to stir up the market and create a buzz for Joey. Like you said, Hortiz could buy some of his money off a team that wants him for a draft pick if it’s worth it.

There will be lots of "talking" this week in public places - like restaurants, the concourse at Lucas Oil and there will be private conversations in hotel rooms -- Hortiz is just trying to see what kind of market there is for JBB before he is released.

we'd hope so and it makes sense.

I believe these guys are pros and they don't give away important information about anything that could later affect their negotiating positions. they are obviously well aware of the guesses and predictions about Bosa, the entire world predicts he will be cut. they gain nothing by admitting now that this is their plan.

"its realistic" could just be Joe keeping his hole card face down, trying to sucker someone back into the pot. there's no actual commitment in that statement at all.

Eat 6 MIL and SF gives you their 2nd 3rd round pick 99..

Or how bout this. Eat 6 MIL, Bosa goes to SF and the 2 teams swap their 2nd and 3rd round pick positions.

That might be Zions saving grace if he can do it, and they need to make a decision this coming year about his 5th year option. Seems to be regressing at OG. So if he can that would be nice and then im guessing they bring back Bozeman cheap for depth and be a teacher....or start at first. Having two better OGs should help.

Technically, Bosa has ZERO guaranteed dollars left . He has a bonus that would be exercised for $12m plus on the third day of the league year - but thats not guaranteed.

Chargers can release him and would save $25m of cap space. So the Chargers do not need to eat anything

If Bosa is released - he wouldn't be eligible for a comp pick --- so thats not a factor

Right, if he is released - there is $11m of dead cap. That $11m counts whether he is on the roster or not -- there is not savings for the Chargers. They are on the hook for that $11m
