I know for sure that there are Chargers fans in Vietnam and Texas, there are a lot of them here in the Austin area. There are non-SD Chargers fans everywhere on the Internet and social media. The "they don't have" thing is completely false. They do have worldwide/out of town following and support, it's just not as much as the more successful teams.
Originally posted by sandiego17 View PostNo they don't have a 'worldwide' following, its silly statement and false. They know it, which is whey they even considered rebranding. But they are run by a lazy, ineffective, timid piece of shit, so the easiest path is to not rebrand. Don't compare 'Chargers' to 'Browns', when the Browns moved and rebranded, it was virtually guaranteed a new Browns would take over. If the Chargers abandon the name, it will die like 'Oilers'.Last edited by vinabolt; 01-12-2017, 09:07 AM.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

IMO, this is Dean right now.

And you're too stupid to understand that you bought the seats, you don't buy the copyright. If you're not going to be a fan anymore, fine. Just don't sabotage and trying to prevent other fans to keep rooting for the Chargers.
You basically said that because you spent money on the Chargers, you won't let anyone else rooting for the Chargers and let us out-of-town fans be without a team to support, too. That's just not cool and yes, absolutely fucking selfish.

They do have out-of-SD supports. Most of those supports come from younger fans who watched Seau, LT, Rivers and the good years of Boss Ross and Marty. And they're much more than you make it out to be. They would have nothing left if it's a complete different team.

They're in the insignificant 'worldwide' group with the likes of, well, maybe the Bengals? You act as if rebranding would cause irreparable harm, lol. It wouldn't.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

Vina, would you care to guess how many "worldwide" fans there are, as compared to other teams? The point is that the Chargers are not as popular as other teams, and by quite a bit. Maybe they are more popular than Jacksonville, but I struggle to think of any other fan base. In San Diego, yes the majority of the NFL fans are/were Charger fans, but you see lots of other fans, probably more so than any other NFL city. There will be a growth in the fan base in LA, but my guess it will take decades to recover their overall fan base, unless they win Super Bowls. They will be playing 16 'away' games for years.

Because we support the Chargers, it doesn't matter which city they're playing in or who's the owner is.

There aren't as many, I know. But the point of business is to retain and build on the support that you already have, not to throw them away just like that.
