Utility costs are less in AZ, as is the cost of housing unless you moved to Scottsdale from San Diego, which if you did, you moved to another San Diego without the benefits. Property taxes are varying in AZ, but HOA costs are lower. If you're living in AZ or even SoCal for that matter, you should be buying solar with battery backups that you program to cycle at night hours. You don't want to be reliant on the grid, whether its Sempra, SDG&E, AIP or APS.

Too hot for me. I run my AC down to 73 degrees so its on most of the time. Unlike some here, I've never seen a utility bill for electricity and gas costs that go lower than $200 and I have had solar in the houses I've been renting for the most part. Granted, I do have a Tesla, so it takes up a lot of juice from solar generation.Originally posted by Packfan19 View Post
It must be way too hot in San Diego all the time.

All those apps and more are available on most smart TVs, especially if you have Android or Google TV-branded ones, so these aren't really just for people using iPads or Android tablets. If you're able to get OTA locals through an antenna, there are various apps that will aggregate those channels into a TV guide, like Sling TV if you buy their cable subscription package(s) without the locals. Or you can just pay for Youtube TV, which is linear cable through an app that has a built-in cloud DVR that will keep recordings for 6+ months without any additional equipment.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
I posted about this earlier, we had Disney+ thru our cable company for like $15-17 a month and my wife cancelled it on Saturday when she found out we could get Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for $10 bucks thru our cell phone provider. It took her about 1/2 hour to do everything cancel the old and add the new, so our cable bill will go down like $15-17 and our phone bill will go up $10, and we get two bonus channels...
I'm not sure why this is being offered but I assume it's a way to get the younger folks that watch these things on hand held devices VS Us old timers who like to watch things on the TV, but I'm still not watching the Chargers on a handheld, the TV has it's own way of keeping track of our subscriptions and we can download the apps directly to the TV and then open them and run them on the big screen...it's so easy to do I might've been able to connect everything without my wife's help, maybe

San Francisco is in the 50s and 60s all summer long it seems then it gets hot for whatever reason at the end of September into October. San Diego I assume gets near 90 a lot?
No, San Diego county certainly has some hot spots but overall the temperatures here are very mild, a typical city of San Diego day is 75-83 degrees without a cloud in the sky and a nice ocean breeze...we get our Santa Ana's in the fall which blow hot desert air towards the ocean and we get some odd heat waves at odd times of the year, sometimes it could happen in April or like this year it didn't happen until September...the patterns have changed since I was a kid, our summers have change a lot too, May grey, June gloom, and the gloom lasted into July this year makes for cool overcast weather that frankly didn't happen when I was a kid and young man, I feel bad for folks that come out here in June expecting hot sunny beach weather and go to the beach and it's overcast and very cool...in 2023 we had a hurricane in the this area which had happened once way back before my time, we got lucky and it died out before it caused big trouble...the ocean and ocean currents have always helped keep the temperatures here moderate, with ocean temperatures rising I don't know exactly how that's going to affect us long term going forward..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Yes back to football stuff, I read from a lot of places that Apple would get the nod but I didn't buy it, I think they are kicking the tires on that guy and I don't think he'll be around, once Samuel and Leonard come off of IR Wade and Bootle go back to the PS...it makes sense to me that Minter feels more comfortable with the guys that have been here for a bit and understand his system...Originally posted by jamrock View PostChargers making moves. I think Rice will make his long awaited debut today, Palmer, Davis, and Rice are the only healthy WRs and they elevated Reagor probably for some STs duty? before they put Leonard on IR they had one open spot on the roster, I thought Chark might be activated for this game but now that they used the two open spots for Bootle and Wade, I think Chark will sit and we'll see Palmer, Davis, Rice, Fehoko, and Ladd get the targets with Reagor maybe getting a catch or two..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Not going to argue about how hot it is in Arizona. I don't like the desert so I'm not going there. SD obviously has better weather. BUT you're wrong aboutOriginally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
May-Sept? that's not what he said, he describe their non AC season as being January and when lucky most of February and that was it and he actually lived there, I think I'll take his word over yours and plus what is the use of getting a discount on electricity when you have to try to cool a 3,500 square foot two story house and your having to run AC 24 hours a day seven days a week for 10 months out of the year...here in San Diego even the inland people get more than a 1 1/2 to 2 month break from running AC...my friend was running that shit 24/7 for ten months out of the year, when this all went down he bought his house outright from the sale of his Grossmont house and with the HOA and the electric bill plus other hidden costs like obtaining fresh produce which we take for granted here in SoCal...We were shocked when he put up his house for sale but we never imagined it would sit on the market for 2 years, a lot of the debt he incurred before he claimed bankruptcy was the HOA shit that he was obligated to pay even after he had already moved back to San Diego while his house sat on the market, and sat and sat, finally they just stopped paying the bill and claimed bankruptcy to end the fucking mess, the house still sat on the market for another 7-8 months before the bank was able to sell it and the money went to pay off the debts plus interest...how long do you think a house would sit on the market here? long enough for someone to go into debt from HOA and back taxes?
the electricity bill. You do have to run the air conditioner a lot in Arizona and yet their electric bill is not as large as living in SD, LA or the Bay Area
in CA. That's because of the large rate difference. I have more than a few friends with large homes that live in the Phoenix area. Their electric bill is
no where close to what my neighbor pays (I'm in San Jose, CA). Since I have solar I am in much better shape. Without it no way to run air conditioner
in CA and not go broke paying the electric bill.
But yes the Real Estate market is quite different in the main CA cities than it is anywhere in Arizona.

Goodyear, hey listen, not to be disrespectful but I'm done discussing this with you, if you knew this guy you wouldn't think this is a bullshit story, not to mention that temperatures have been steadily rising there, maybe you have been planning to retire there? LOL, for your sake I hope you do your due diligence and don't get swayed by a beautiful house in an upscale community with a pool...Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
