I was just about to say this.

This year's Bengals remind me of previous Chargers teams - pass at will, but can't stop anybody either.

Now we are turning the historical tables on previous mirror images of ourselves - we will impose our will in the end.

I'm not going to predict a win by an stretch and wouldn't dream of jinxing my Bolts like that, but I feel very confident that the Chargers match up well against the Bengals...If we continue to protect the football like we have been and our defense plays around the level we've seen them play the whole year, then I like our chances...

interesting comparison, I would say Burrow is more like Fouts and Herbert is more like Anderson, one guy is flashy and the other more methodical...

She has a beautiful voice. I know she had some serious health issues recently Stiff person syndrome and lost a lot of weight but I think she is getting better now.

Car, Clev, LVR same teams we beat, plus 2-7 Tenn, 3-7 NO (no Carr), 5-5 Den (rookie QB).

When the game starts either team can win. We just need to find Cincys weakness and exploit it. Hoping our injured CBs and injured Mack doesn’t hurt our efforts.

The Chargers are 2-0 against the Bengals in the Herbert era, both in Cinn, but Herbert has only one of those wins. The first game of Herbert's rookie season was in Cinn, Tyrod Taylor's one start for the Chargers. It was Burrow's first start ever as well. The Chargers won 16-13. Tyrod suffered his rib injury in this game, which led to him getting shot up before the week 2 game against the Chiefs - the infamous punctured lung incident.

Herbert and the Chargers returned to Cinn in 2021, and beat the Bengals handily 41-22. It was Chase's rookie season. Burrow dropped a deep dime on Chase early in that game with Michael Davis a step behind, Chase spastically chugged up the ball into Davis' hands for an INT. Remember that? The Chargers took a big lead then typically the Staley D laid down and Burrow brought the Bengals back, but Chris Harris picked Burrow again in the Chargers' end zone in the 4th Q and the offense came alive again and put the game out of reach.

I still can't listen to it without a tear in my eye.

I think I told you my dad served in the Canadian army in WWII and was captured at Dieppe in 1942.

                    Gordon Lightfoot

Lightfoot had many haunting songs. I am sorry to hear about your sister and that is sad that song brings back those memories. Sorry but I didn't hear about your father , maybe you posted another Cdn on here but that was a remarkable battle. Many Canadians were at Dieppe and many died there too. It was one of their more famous WW2 involvements actually though the raid was very tragic.

I had many relatives in WW2 too but interestingly in other armies. My Dad was British actually and was a pilot in the RAF flying supply planes in the far east. I had an uncle who was on the US merchant ships in the Atlantic on 2 boats that were torpedoed, the original boat then the rescue boat. Another British aunt was a medical nurse in the royal navy.

My dad was British-American, born in Britain during WWI to an American serving in the British army and his English wife. My dad spent his early years in Britain (Manchester) but mostly grew up in the U.S. In 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland he enlisted in the U.S. Army. But inaction in the U.S. after the fall of France, with Hitler seemingly poised to invade England, led him to "desert" the U.S. Army and enlist in the Canadian army, which was in the war and sending troops to England to help fend off a German invasion. The Battle of Britain saved England from invasion, the Canadian troops protecting the South Coast of England were getting restless. My dad had married an English girl he met at a dance in Sept '41. In Aug 1942 the British decided to the mount the raid on Dieppe using Canadian troops. My dad was a Sgt in the Essex Scottish, which was mostly cut down on the beach at Dieppe. He was captured and spent the remainder of the war in various German stalags. His English wife gave birth to their child in Feb 1943 while he was a POW. My dad kept her existence and the fact he had been married during the war a secret from us, his U.S. children. I didn't learn about my half sister until after my father died in 1973 when I was 15. We located her in 2005, I've been over there to visit her a few times. She is 81 and lives in Worthing, directly across the Channel from Dieppe. I've told this story here before, but it's Veterans Day and I wanted to tell it again. I knew almost nothing about my dad when he died, almost everything I know now I've learned in the 50 years since his death. He was a secretive man. The U.S. Army Rangers were formed during WWII. Fifty Rangers tagged a long at the Dieppe Raid, it was the Rangers' baptismal combat. I think two died at Dieppe and the rest returned made it back to England.

Outside of the starting QBs, the current 2024 teams are drastically different from those 2021 teams, I think Burrow has a better O-line now and he still has a lot of big time weapons, but the Bengal defense is not as good as it was...The Chargers on the other hand have a better defense than they did in 2021 and Herbert has lost a lot of his weapons, but despite that this is a better overall team due to coaching, defense, and STs upgrades...

Also that 2021 game was one of Austin Ekeler's most frustrating games as a Charger, he fumbled twice and if I remember correctly we lost both of them (?) which helped the Bengals get back into what looked like a runaway blowout at the beginning...

I like that we have gotten seemingly better every week. Jim is preparing us for these big games later and later in the year.

                          Let's go get it.
Yea this team seems to be alot more focused and sticking with a true system. My big worry are the wheels falling off due to such an early bye week, but they're doing great so far!
