    Food for thought.
    Bengals are very much outliers.
They are not gonna be able to pay Tee.
    It's over.

    Chargers are on the rise.
The two throws to Conk drove a wooden stake through the heart of Chargering.
For all the world to see.
    We play modern Harball.

Ask the Broncos and the Bengals what it’s like to have to leave a game up to a winning field goal attempt. I’ll take the TD run with 18 clicks left on the board any day. And with how our D has played for the majority of this season, I’m sure Harbaugh would too. Some people man, I swear. Lol. Jk Kind of. 😜

Tale of 2 half's. We won the 1st and they won (on paper) the second.

Bengals had level 10 motivation, more passing yards, total yards, total plays, better 3rd downs %, more time possession, 100% 3/3 on 4th downs, AND won the turnover battle.

Yet the Charger found a way to win.

When a player in Dobbs' situation *DOES* give himself up inside the 1 yard line? It's pretty much universally considered smart and unselfish.

This is a teaching opportunity for Harbaugh. I'm certain that he'll have some words for the team about this when they watch the film.
In no way do I believe that it is universally considered smart and unselfish to NOT try and score a TD when the game is tied.

Yea...I hate that...hit was clean, and wasnt late...these refs want 320 pound DTs to spin off the QB mid air, in a bang bang play lasting tenths of a second...but...by the rules, they had to call it I guess...

Boy, most of that 2nd half was painful to watch as the Chargers squandered a 21 point lead.

But in the end, the Chargers defeated Chargering, even though somewhat ugly, and that’s all that matters.

Pivotal game that bodes well for the rest of the season.

You can not believe it, that doesn’t make it untrue.

Players who understand the game situation and give the opponent no chance to win and maximize your chance of winning are considered smart, whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant.

Dobbins got the touchdown, great. But he opened up a possibility for the bengals to score and go for two to win that they don’t have if you stop at the 1-5 yard line run the clock out and kick a ~20 yard field goal. Yes he can miss the field goal but the likelihood of that happening is about equal to the bengals scoring (I would say less but whatever) and the two point conversion is on the table where it isn’t for the blocked FG.

Its very very much the smarter football IQ play to go down by the goal line and kick the field goal giving the Bengals no chance to possess the ball and win.

All that being said it’s splitting hairs and I’m happy he scored and don’t really care. It’s a good problem to have. Cheers to a good win.

Lost in this argument is the fact that Bengals still had a timeout left, so even if Dobbins goes down inside the 5, they could have stopped the clock.

And some days it is the other way around. This team won’t do anything the first half then scores a lot on the second half. Just the nature of the game.

not sure what happened on/to the IDL for the second half, and.... don't recall seeing/hearing much of Denzel neither (in the second half) ??

think losing a CB or two affected things as well....

and guessin' we coulda used Edwards some, and agree.... prolly coulda used Chark as well ??

think the the Oline held up reasonably well, think the running game was sufficient, Dissly had a good game, and even think the receivers were alright, as thinkin' it was J10 who was just off w/his ball placement for most of the second half ??

and think the guys on the Edge played pretty well, Henley was outta his tree (good), liked what Fulton did more oft than not, ditto for Tarheeb and some of our other DBs.... not sure if it was injuries or the whatnot, but the interior of our D was a lot leakier in the second half than it had been in the first ??

all that said, 34 points is 34 points, and.... think we all share in the disappointment of giving up more than 20 points for the first time, as you could just tell the D and the sidelines just didn't want to give up TDs when Cincy began to get into the red zone.

looking forward to seeing how Jim does against John, as was def not expecting a win here tonight.... well done gentlemen.
Watch the replays. Bengals O line held like crazy and wasn't called, that was the main difference. On the Bengals last TD Tart gets mauled around the neck when he should have been on his way to Burrow. It was really bad and right in front of the Ref (who in his part was just following the NFL script).

I guess the refs in the Bills - KC game did not get the memo on the script for undefeated season for the Chiefs since not only did the Bills not get called for anything late, but KC got called for a hold wiping out a first down.

The conspiracy theory script thing is just...sad.
