Gus Edwards would be a perfectly adequate running back if they gave him consistent carries.
Why doesn't Palmer catch more balls? He had 4 to 4 1/2 receptions per game in his last two seasons. This season he is averaging two per game. Some of it is Herbert's reduced passing volume, but that's been changing the last couple of games. Can he not get separation or is he being used on the wrong routes? He had 72 receptions two seasons ago. So far this season he has 23.
Why don't the Chargers give Chark and Reagor some of QJ's snaps? They can't be any worse.
I hated the fake punt. The Chargers' defense was playing well and the Chargers had the lead.
Maye played a meaningful number of snaps. Chargers' defensive back coach Steve Clinkscale and safeties coach Chris O’Leary worked magic to get him ready in just a few days.
Ja'Sir Taylor used to be a decent player. What happened to him? Has he not fully recovered from his fibula injury?
Still almost had two pick-sixes. Of course, he missed on the second, leading to the 60-yard play, but there were other defenders in the area who should have been able to stop McCloud.
I hope the Chargers re-sign Fulton. He's only 26. Having Fulton, Hart and Still at CB would be awesome.
Troy Dye was a way-below-the-radar signing, and he's not the best player in the world, but he led the team with 14 tackles today.
The Chargers' passing offense seems to have so little creativity. It's McConkey up the middle and Palmer and QJ along the sidelines.
It's crazy being a Chargers fan and having more confidence in their defense than their offense. The defense matched the offense back in the Dean/Kelcher/Johnson/Jones era, but I don't think it's ever been better than their offense.
That was a bull**** non-call on the helmet-to-helmet contact on McConkey. I understood what Steratore was saying (I think)--that the principal impact was to the shoulder rather than the head--but I've never seen a foul committed by a Charger waived off on that basis.
OK, that's what comes to mind right now.
