Yes, that was my point. Harbaugh and Roman are keenly aware of the limitations of our receiving corps, and if Chark was so much better, he would be getting targets.

Again, the skill players we played today against this bottom dwelling D had Herbert, a gimpy Ladd for half an game and nobody else.

Herbert can make all the line calls in the world, but if Johnson and Pipkins can’t pick up a stunt or get run over, it’s worthless.

Palmer is better suited to be a #4 at this point. He gets no separation, has no deep speed and isn’t a YAC guy.

Edwards is averaging 3.3 yards per carry with 1 TD this year. He is a good short yardage back, nothing more at this point. He sucks as a starting RB, unless you think being in 2nd and 8 or 9 when running on first downs is a positive.

The talent is far below average. At the beginning of the year, with everyone healthy, people ranked us as the team with the worst skill players in the league. With Dobbins down, it’s even worse.

Who make decisions there?
Edwards averaged 5 + per run today .... throw out the early season carries when he wasn't healthy.

Herbert's play has been part of the problem over the last 2 1/2 games.

^This. The reality is, we need at least one more offseason to restock the roster and add some skill players for Herbert.

McConkey 9 rec for 117 yards on a bum shoulder!!

QJ 2 rec for 12 yards...

Palmer 1 rec 11 yards...

The rest of the offensive playmakers 1 reception each...

Falcons should have (and did) loose this game. They were coming off a bye and should have dominated the game.

You never answered my question - which of our WRs, RBs and TEs who played today outside of Ladd would see the field for any other NFL team, much less one of the playoff teams? Aside from MAYBE Disley, not any of them, IMO.

I like this post simply because Herbert CAN do better... Herbert has 1 INT the entire year, for the most part that is because he is conservative. I'm wondering if Herbert is being throttled back by Harbaugh and Roman? They seem to be insisting he play conservative and not take chances. I think its good coaching, especially with the talent level of our offensive weapons or lack there of... We're 8-4 because of it.

I honestly have no idea what to think about Roman. One thing he has always done well, despite what he was criticized before for, was getting the running game going. We can’t even do that, making me think the interior oline is REALLY hindering the entire offense.

why are you making excuses for him? good coaches find a way to use a superstar like Herbert, roll him the fuck out, maybe couple designed runs, something, anything, but we saw nothing out there...

I think as long as we keep winning Harbaugh will stay with Johnston. He must see a gold nugget in QJ down deep! He must think it's a confidence issue with Johnston and that he'll turn it around with enough Head Coach support (keep playing him).
