Great point!! Cousins normally takes way better care of the ball. He may not have elite arm talent, but he has always been a competent QB who normally makes good decisions. I agree, Minter’s defense confused him. They would show blitz at first, then slide into show coverage to only eventually blitz.

Chargers are 11th in pass defense and 14th in run defense. They are 1st in scoring defense.

Yeah - he's nicked. He's never really played at a high level while nicked / dinged up.

          They better have the cart ready . . . . . . . . and a defibulator (sp?)

Yeah - flushing him is not the problem . . . . . . . . . the problems start AFTER you force him out of the pocket

The Maye interception? That was an inexplicable throw into triple coverage in the end zone, Really poor QB play.

I get that the defense is playing well, but are you going to sit here and tell me that Kirk Cousins played a good football game? That is not the story out of Atlanta. That was probably the worst game of his career.

But the conversation with Velo started about Herbert and the offense. No TDs, 9 points. 40 yards in the second half. Two 3 and outs. Two 4 and outs

Do you think that output from Herbert and the offense will beat the Chiefs this week?

Nope... The offense needs to step up BIGTIME. We have to play better than we have all season, time to separate the men from the boys.

The upcoming KC game has nothing to do with my point. We confused a veteran QB and won the game, on a short week, traveling across country against a team with 2 weeks to prepare for us. Luck had nothing to do with it.

I am watching ESPN clip just trashing Kirk Cousins. They also highlighted the Maye interception. Cousins is playing really poorly of late. 0-3 in his last starts. O TDs 6 Interceptions QBR rating 20 points lower than previous games

Kirk Cousins is playing terrible football right now and it was a big factor in our win, whether our defense played well or not. I think its fair to say if we were playing a QB firing on all cyinders, the 9 points our offense scored doesnt win the game.

We can agree not to call it luck. How about abysmal QB play

We can also say we played an early east coast game on short week and came away with a win, ugly or not, and that is well done, Both things can be true.

Look as much as we celebrate the secondary play yesterday and not to take away from that but Cousins played the worst game i have seen in a long time. We got no pressure, he had all day to throw ina clean pocket and he made unimagnable poor decisions and throws. Any normal QB play with the opportunites the Falcons had and we lose that game with what our offense put out. We got lucky
when our offense makes a bad play, we suck. When the opposing offense makes a bad play, we got lucky.

I never really felt throughout the game ATL had done enough that mattered to deserve the win, no more than us. They had a lot more yards where it didn't matter but when plays needed to be made, LAC consistently stepped up on D.

As my wise friend Velo advises us - sit back and enjoy it. I know I am too.
