Maybe it's unfair to expect the O to continue to be quite this bad.
The D and special teams were stealing the show and we just let them.
I doubt that was our best effort offensively vs Atlanta and very strongly doubt that the Chargers look the same on offense vs KC.

        1. The two only ran for 10 attempts.
        2. 70% of the attempts went for less than 3 yards.

Yes our short down dive plays suck. But that was brought up in the context that we did not have a good day running the football.
we really don't need to go on like this. you posted that same thing 3 times now.

The offense is pretty bad though considering they have Herbert etc.
I know the interior is lacking but I think the lack guys not getting open is what is really holding them back.
The run game is a problem.
There's guys like Matlock and are TEs who are there to help run block but they don't bring much to the table receiving wise but we can't get the run game going so it makes them kinda voidish.
I happy with the results it's just the fact that the defense is playing so well if the offense could just step it up they might have something.
I really dislike the Chiefs and I think the refs make questionable(at best) calls for them which really makes me dislike them.Hope we can score some points Sunday night.
the bad job Joe did was in selecting the specific lower cost FA WR and TE he signed. two swings and two misses. he got a lot of hits. nobody bats 1.000. just hurts more because both misses were intended to do the same thing - catch passes and generate passing offense and fill the hole left by KA+MW+Everett.

Matlock can't run routes, 100% correct. he can drift stumble rumble off the line and if defense forgets him Herbie can hit him for 3 yards, same as he could do with any OT-eligible trick play, its not an offense. we're not going to start calling our OTs receivers either. Matlock isn't a FB either - he's an extra lineman in the backfield.

The last three weeks teams have increased man coverage and it's clear teams will play lots of man vs our WR's. I hope they have been practicing vs man and especially with QJ Palmer Reager and Davis. I would use Davis speed in the slot or in motion on crossers to allow him to run away from coverage and get separation with planned rollouts so Herbert can attack the man coverage with designed run plays when the DBs have eyes on WR's and not into the backfield. Make them pay if the government man coverage and let Herbert stretch his legs!

QJ will need a big catch or three early vs man to back them off a bit.

He took flyers in the draft with WR late in round 7. In as far as the draft goes his biggest mistake was taking J. Edoigbe in the 4th. Should have picked a C.

This is correct. Further, Herbert NEEDS to run to loosen up the defenses more. If they are playing man, then he should have the chance to run quite a bit -- as you note.

I simply do not have much faith in QJ or Dissly to beat man. I think Palmer can beat man a bit, but even he is lacking. I have a hard time seeing the passing game flourishing without McConkey though -- regardless of how accurate Herbert can be.

I wouldn’t say that just yet about Eboigbe. He’s a rook and 4th rounders don’t always contribute right away. I think next year will be his year and we can determine if the pick was a mistake.

On another note Harbaugh said Chark had real good week of practice. Is this the week that they actually use him🤷🏻‍♂️? I truly hope so!
