I don't think anyone has any aspirations that these guys are foundational players for the future.

Look at the Chiefs and the value they got out of castoffs like Hardman and Tooney.

It's a double edged sword too, these guys are on the street for a reason. Reagor, for example, probably cost us the game against the Cardinals with that fumble into the end zone. Don't want a guy like Shenault fumbling the game away, but I trust Harbaugh to pick and choose spots for these guys to contribute.

Chiefs drafted Hardman in the 2nd round, he was a castoff?

Hardman signed with the Jets March of '23 and was traded back for a scrap player and a late pick. The Jets got something for him so I'd guess "castof'f'" isn't completely accurate.
      But was close.

Do we have a counter?
          Pick/rub plays.

I'd say not getting on the field even when healthy is a miss.

IIRC, that was an issue for the Ravens before they hit on Flowers. Hope not. Certainly hit on Ladd.

A running QB has a distinct advantage vs man. With Man coverage the DBs eyes are on the WR looking down field not upfield so the are slower to react when the QB pulls the ball in and runs. I would design a lot of rollouts and give Herbert the green light to run all day. I would also design some Herbert Run plays. Pass on first down go heavy online on second and third down and run at Jones with both Matlock and Die hitting him hard all game long.

I saw this in my google news feed:
Quentin Johnston has shown promise when he confident, but the consistency in his confidence is erratic. A confidence crisis is apparent.

Herbert rolling one way and then throwing deep the other way was a play we used to see with some regularity and some success. Herbert needs to be more assertive, something manning and Brady learned as their careers progressed

When they play M2M I expect them to spy on Herbert . . . . . . . . seems obvious that Herbert's legs are probably the best way for us to be successful on offense . . . . . . . I doubt KC's missed that memo. Crossers and picks are the name of the game for us since most of our receivers can't create separation on their own. I wouldn't count on Herb's legs bailing us out.

Who sits? Haskins? Vidal? Or do they go with fewer WRs? Jarret showed some ability to catch passes out of the backfield. Maybe they'll start doing that?
