Uh, not so fast ...Roman called ONE good game recently...the Go-Go-Greggo Groupies should check back with me at the end of the season about that name change ...if Greggo continues to call good games, maybe we can rename this thread, ahem, "The Fall and Rise of the Roman Empire"...
What is a successful season for you? Saying he called a "good game" or "bad game" is very subjective from a fans perspective. If you're telling me QJ dropping passes just means Roman called a bad play, I'm going to tell you you're wrong. If you're telling me 3 linemen on 1 defender is part of the assignment, again wrong.
So has norv turner, I don’t see people tripping over themselves to sign him. Greg Roman’s form of offense is antiquated in today’s game. He can keep up with passing schemes of the 2000s but not today.
Norv Turner has a job in the NFL... A shitty job, but he still makes more money than you on his worst day. Saying Roman's form of offense is "antiquated" is also calling Harbaugh's offense antiquated since the 2 are interconnected and have been for years. What about it is "antiquated"? Its going to be a rough several years of Harbaugh/Roman football for you I guess.

I'm being careful not to swear or be rude. IMO Air Coryell @ 1980 was the greatest passing game ever. I'm far more Neanderthal. I loved Vince Lombardi's Packers. Let's just have at it with the big boys. Winning is winning but some blood in the dirt makes it seem more like NFL football to me. Thanks.
Getting a little personal fellas. I dont moderate swearing. Unless its in the form of a personal attack. Lets just chill. All on the same team. Always gonna have opinions on both sides. I want unity at the end of the day. Just agree to diagree and move on if it starting to feel pointless arguing. Its just not worth getting after each other.
If Roman can just be a more consistent playcaller in the second half. We need more Saints, Titans, 2nd KC, and 2nd Denver game consistency. It’s weird that he abandons the run so quickly. Putting it in Herbert’s hands also wouldn’t be as bad if there were more quick passing game and easy layups for Herbert to hit. But I don’t think calling all these vertical routes are the way to go.

Against the #1/#2 scoring defense:
Gus was effective at 4.9 per carry and 2 TDs. Kimani had 4.8 per carry. Herbert's play action passes were killing Denver.
2025 chargers Offense will benefit from emerging (internal or external) pass catching TE, workhorse RB, Dominent Interior line, vertical threat WR.
Lets create some killer competition in those positions.

Nobody has questioned Norv Turner as a OC. Norv Retired, but is now helping his Son as a consultant.
As for what works or not today, I saw the Chiefs line up in the wishbone a couple times today lol.
Rich Eisen knows... Roman is a Harbaugh guy, Harbaugh knows what he is doing. This is the coaching staff we clamored for and now we got it and its working, we're playoff bound after winning 5 games last year.
If the Chiefs are this generations Patriots then we need to be this generations Giants... We have Harbaugh and we have Herbert.
Who was the Giants OC in those Superbowls? Bet nobody can say without Googling it.
We have the defense and QB, get him some weapons.
If Roman sucks after next season, I'm on the train.
Until we fix the middle of the oline, we will struggle:
Chargers' interior offensive line turns in horrendous PFF grades vs. Broncos
It is hard to get much worse than this. PFF grades are by no means the end-all, say-all and are certainly flawed but it is remarkable just how bad these collective grades are for the Chargers' interior offensive line.
But is anyone really surprised? Chargers fans have watched this unit struggle all season long. Thursday's struggles were nothing new for Chargers fans, who are already planning ahead for what offensive linemen the team can add in the offseason.
The season-long pass-blocking grades are better but still aren't any good. Johnson has a 60.0, Bozeman has a 47.6, and Pipkins has a 45.6. There are 60 interior offensive linemen who have at least 480 pass-blocking snaps this season; Johnson ranks 48th, Bozeman ranks 57th, and Pipkins ranks 59th.
All three of the Chargers' starting interior offensive linemen rank in the 20th percentile with the Bolts having two of the four worst starters in the entire sport. And people wonder why this offense has struggled and that is without mentioning the lack of weapons and the disappointing play-calling.
