Some people get more emotionally attached to a quarterback than they do their favorite team. That's why we're seeing ridiculous comments blaming Joshua Palmer (who would have had 160 receiving yards if Herbert had thrown an accurate pass on that play) for Herbert's mistake there. And, yes, it did have a major effect on the game.

Herbert played very well in the second half, as did Palmer, and there were plenty of other reasons why we lost. But he has to complete that pass.

Not saying Herbert has to be perfect but that's twice now that he's missed Palmer on long balls for TDs. Those are throws the franchise QB should make.
Herbert does have to be just about perfect for us to win and last night showed it. He missed one pass and we lost.

I also really hate this "throws franchise QBs should make" argument - Mahomes missed more passes last night than Herbert did. Josh Allen missed passes. Every QB misses passes every game. Herbert played with backup level skill players and still got us the lead late, which the D could not hold. Is he perfect? Nope, but some of the takes here - SMH.

He actually doesn't. Last year, with Staley, yes. But not now. He was 17 of 36 against the Bengals and we still won. That is nowhere near perfect.

In some games, I will agree that is true. Last night - not so much.

Missed throw, missed tackle, blown kickoff - it just don’t matter. Nobody beats Mahomes in the final minutes of a tight game. Those are the rules right now. Because either the zebras will come in for the assist, or some crazy black magic voodoo luck will miraculously bounce their way. Nobody gets this lucky that many times in a row, this side of Tom Brady. It’s entertainment folks. Enjoy it (or not), for what it is. I may have to switch to WWE soon. NFL has gotten tired with all the shenanigans (or witchcraft).Whatever it is, I don’t care because I’m losing interest fast.

Herbert missed more than one pass last night. You may hate that argument but that's not a good reason to dismiss it. And yes Mahomes missed some passes as well but when the games on the line he doesn't.

Herbert wouldn't have to be perfect with every throw for a chance to score.

                Bottom line, explosive WRs needed.
Or Herbert can just make that throw count. Whats with the IF Chark had been the reciever BS? He was wide open and he missed him.

what I also see in him. I wanna see him cutback on an open lane, not just run where the blocking was going.

He also connected on 10 straight in the 2nd half to help lead the team back. Most were guided missiles that only a couple guys in the league could throw.

There's also debate on this thread whether it was Herb or Palmer's fault on that go route overthrow.

Small mistakes matter in games against the Chiefs, and you probably could find them in every play. The key for the long view of the team is that there are a lot fewer of them than years previous. I didn't have much confidence of a win in this game, and there was none at the half, but the team turned it around for the best 3rd quarter of the season. Just keep fixing the small problems, address the big ones after the season.

Same here. The allure is quickly fading and it seems more and more long-term fans are realizing it.

Oh well, worst case, the NFL can bet on the swifties for ratings now lol

Herbert has elite arm talent. No doubt about that. But he missed that one and missed it in the Ravens game.
