Chargers at Patriots Pre-Game Discussion (Week 17)

The Patriots have a strong interior D-line but they allowed the Bills to rip off some big runs, not sure how that happened but we don't have a dynamic RB like the Bills do, there is no guarantee that Dobbins is ready to play yet, what are our chances of being able to run on the Pats?

We ran on Denver, a stronger D than Pats at basically everything. Den run D #5, Pats #19. It'll be different but I expect Harbaugh & Roman will do their homework.

Drake Maye is coming into his own. Got to watch out for Henry, Stevenson and Douglas. Chargers should win this game but in NE is significantly more difficult.

Do not stop doing play action and keep giving the ball to Edwards, Vidal and a tad bit of Haskins when needed.

I do feel like the Colts and Dolphins will win out.

Enormous pressure next week, and even moreso week 18 if we haven't clinched by then.

I predict a frustratingly close game, but Harbaugh is built for these moments, we are coming off a mini bye and starting to get healthy.

It's a game we SHOULD win. But I agree Fleet 1 that Patriots games always seem to be a struggle, no matter how good their team is/isn't.

Raiders owner Mark Davis was in the locker room clapping and talking to Daniel Carlson and AJ Cole when the locker room opened to the media. Some other players were dancing. Davis was in a good mood. Doesn't seem to care about the draft order ramifications of the win over JAX.

The turds game may be a little more difficult than expected. They haven’t mentally packed up and gone home yet.

Let’s get the game against the Pats in the win column.

Patriots will be tough but one thing, Patriots playing Buffalo is different than playing the Chargers. That was like their playoff game since its a division game. Patriots were tough with Hoodie and Brady there because of Hoodie and Brady. Both are not there anymore.

That said - the Chargers cannot take anything for granted. Need a good week of practice and play a good game and get the W and everything else is all gravy with respect to seeding

I don't think it matters to them. They aren't in the market for a QB (the 2025 QB class isn't good anyway), they'll probably be picking in the top 5 regardless, and the top of the draft is a crap shoot. Who saw Bo Nix being better than Caleb Williams and Ladd McConkey being the best WR of his draft? I think a winning their final two is more important to them.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 1st round draft order is set. Most of the teams in the top 6 of the order are playing teams in or alive for the playoffs The exception.. the Raiders, who are at the Saints. It won't surprise me at all if the Raiders win there. I don't think the Pats will just tank for the draft pick, they have a weak Strength of Schedule, and probably destined to be in the top 3. However, they won't be as motivated as they were with a divisional rival.
