Chargers at Raiders Pre-Game Discussion (Week 18)

If you want to go to the entire game the cheapest is usually the night before and then starts getting higher I've noticed for all tickets at all venues. Otherwise cheapest is after game starts if you're willing to miss the first quarter.

If the Chargers do get the 5th seed - you can schedule a flight to Houston for the early game on Saturday in Wild card round

The Shakey's Game! If you listen to the Bill Simmons podcast, they call this early Saturday wild card game the "Shakey's Game". Because nobody ever actually sits down to watch it on a Saturday afternoon, it's just on in the background at Shakey's while your kid is attending some other kid's birthday party there. They also joke that the AFC South winner owns the perpetual "Shakey's Game" time slot, because nobody gives a shit about any of those teams.

Speaking for myself, I don't fear the Ravens. Respect is the correct word. Likewise Houston.
Houston environment over Baltimore is an easy choice. More Chargers fans in the seats and very probably better weather.

I highly doubt Houston will open its retractable roof in January.

What I worry about is that the Chargers would go into that game like the 1979 game vs. the Oilers... getting beat by the Bum, with 5 picks thrown by Fouts, at home,

Vikings have 76m of cap space. They have plenty of money to sign Darnold for one year. They can franchise him like you said. Personally, I think I only go at most two years on Darnold anyway.

As for the Raiders - they have the cap space to do something big for Darnold -- next two years, nobody has more combined space than the Raiders

Not sure I trust Darnold yet to be honest to give him more than two years - almost like show me again before we really commit!

Ted Nguyen - not sure who he works for but a Raiders fan for sure -- suggested the Raidres offer their FRP to the Vikings for McCarthy - well he threw it out there as a possibility.

Thats funny and true. And yes, the AFCS is the home of the first game on Saturday of Wild Card Weekend. Going back to the Texans onto the Titans. I was surprised when the Chargers played the Jags at night on Saturday instead of the day

By the way, that was another reason I was pissed at Staley for playing starters against Denver -- most people when projecting WildCard weekend would have had the Chargers/Jags on Saturday - so a short week, flying back to CA and back again to FL.

Like if the Chargers play the Ravens - that could be primetime Sunday game - Harbaugh Bowl/

It is more likely they play them, I'd just wish it later than sooner. If the Browns beat them this week, and Steelers beat the Bengals, the Charges would be playing vs. the Steelers, a team I think would be easier to beat than the Ravens.

if we get 5 seed, we may not see BAL. Win and we'd go to KC, then the AFCCG which could be BUF, BAL or an upset. Game would be at BUF, I'd probably bet on BUF but I'd rather play BAL
