Ted Nguyen - not sure who he works for but a Raiders fan for sure -- suggested the Raidres offer their FRP to the Vikings for McCarthy - well he threw it out there as a possibility.
I would offer Darnold a 2+1 with an out after two, just to hedge their bets...

as a kid, i was lucky enough to go to the practice facility at Lake Murray each year, as i was friends with my neighbors and his dad was a LB Coach if i remember right.. Sitting on their bunk beds as they got ready for practice. Back then, they all had to have jobs in the off season. NOTHING like today's players.

Teams aren’t sitting on Darnold. It’s a QB driven league. He’s getting paid huge.
There’s a better chance MIN just gives Darnold a monster deal and then they trade McCarthy during a very weak QB draft and just have Daniel Jones as their career backup. Darnold is only 27. If Darnold hits the market SEA and SF will be huge buyers into him immediately. Shanahan will just let Purdy walk or trade him and sign Darnold.

            TT might go for McCarthy...

or would I? idunno - just line up and play - these guesses often turn out wrong anyway.
If an upset AFCCG could be in SoFi!

I think he (or his agent) will laugh and tell them they'll get back, imo. He is

                #3 in passer rating
                #13 in QBR
                #3 in yards
                #5 in yards per game
                #4 in TDs (most)
                #4 in yards per pass
                #90 in INTs (most)

He guided his team to 14-2 and won their last 9 straight.

He's 27 and ready to rock, he will have interest beyond MIN. They can tag him for a year if they want to rent-to-buy. they have until early March to get a deal first.

I would agree that he's no Justin Herbert

Now that I have reviewed the Vikes and seen that they have a lot of cap space, u could be right...I'm sure a lot of people in Minnesota are banging the table to pay the man:

I agree..... im as old as the team....and I remember when coryell took over for a horrible coach ..prothro.... and cheap ass Klein was the owner, who traded away Dean, Johnston, and Jefferson(though the picks we got for Jefferson got us Chandler who was even more gifted..... )...best offense in NFL history.... did it against the raiders HOF defenses, denver crush, and dallas doomsday.... nearly unstoppable.... and defenses could actually hit receivers back then!....one year there were 9 offensive players who made pro bowl.... as starters or backups.... and acutally played in game at same time!....multiple HOFers.....

that would be AWESOME! First play...handoff for 60 yards, then pull him after that bit of cardio.

i finally went to Jack Murphy stadium in 2002 (i live in northern california) and it was like going to football disneyland (and being surrounded by fellow charger fans). especially after going to games in oakland to see the chargers.

Never pay a QB after one good season. I'd tag him, ride him for another year and get JJ McCarthy up to speed. Tag him again the following year, and trade him -- that would be the wise business move.
