Working out running last night to the top of the hill I saw all of the Santa Monica Mountains in an orange flame. Looked like apocolyptic. Like the whole city was on fire. Just horrible.

And I was just trying to make sense how it started. I remember hearing Monday we were getting 100 mph winds. Just sounded insane. Hurricane shit. Then thinking the Global warming. We get Santa Anna’s but nothing like this.

Then Palisades happens and like what the fuck????

And to hear there are piece of shit arsonists possibly starting fires???? Unfuckingbelievable. The Hollywood fire sounds like it was arson started. Shit slowed down and then started up again 5 fires I can’t take it.

Gladly fortunately the winds are calming down this morning and weekend and things are getting normal again.

The thigh just had him limited. He got the flu - best course is rest and fluids, he’s young and should recover and play. (Just my guessing, per usual)

Not sure if QJ has a respiratory or GI virus...but either way it may not be as quick a recovery as we'd hope for, depending on what it actually is.

Not downplaying the real life tragedy unfolding in LA right now AT ALL, but it HAS to be on the team's mind. Couple that with the impact on deceased practice time, QJ's illness, etc...and I think my optimism for a win may have decreased a notch or two. Seems like too many critical distractions right now (and for good reason).

Also we are starting to get a little too much media hype, which is typically when things start to go south for us.

It will have been a good run, regardless. Just lowering expectations for myself a bit.

The Chargers beat Houston, are the lowest seed going into the Divisional Round, are not intimidated at all by the Chiefs or going to Arrowhead, take down Mahomes & Co. He also talks about Jim Harbaugh mentoring him when they were on the Chargers roster in 1999. He talks about a text chain he has going with Jim and Justin. Some good stuff.

My oldest son (12) has become somewhat of a football savant (for his age) over the past couple of years, and understands and talks about the ins and outs of the game in a way that would make any dad proud.

He is making the same prediction as Leaf, re: the Chargers' path to the AFCCG. He also vividly remembers the Jacksonville collapse. I worry though that he is not yet fully prepared for Chargers playoff football, and is putting too much emotionally into this run.

I pray the football gods spare him the agony of playoff defeat, if only at least for one round.

The fires have nothing to do with global warming. My son in law is a Captain in CAL FIRE who is working on the fires. It is first and foremost the idiotic decision prioritize appeasing certain environmental groups and Indian tribes at the expense of forest management. Add in the budget cuts, lack of water/water pressure and a couple of other issues that are probably too polarizing to put in here and we have the perfect storm of incompetence that results in this.
