    Has California ever done that?

My nephews home and all belongings were destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire. They evacuated with very little notice on Tuesday when the fire erupted. He left with his wife, a 1 yr old and 3 yr old….literally have nothing left but the clothes they were wearing and their vehicle.

I listened to what they told me about the suddenness. The fires came out of nowhere and winds were gusting to 100 mph after 6 months of 0% precipitation. There was no way firefighters could stop the hurricane winds whipping the fires in all directions.

To attribute this to DEI. clearing forests, which Pacific Palisades isn’t, is absolute political nonsense.

It makes me sick seeing people turn this political and pretend Mother Nature could be harnessed.

For those blaming politicians, were you doing same in Texas and Oklahoma when 1M+ acres burned causing loss of life and billions in damage in the Smokehouse creek fire of 2024?

Lots of flu stuff going around. It knocked me down for 3 days so hopefully QJ has sufficient time to recover. What’s worrisome is others could come down with it as we get closer to game time.

They should consider some quarantine measures.

Just passing by to say hi... looking forward to the game Saturday, I'll be rooting for the other guys. Nothing against the Chargers, love your coach, your QB, your defense, your colors... kinda wish ya stayed in San Diego. But somebody has to lose.

There's no reason for any of us in H-Town to believe we're going to win this game. But I'm a fanatic so... it's what we do. Our defense has been able to level the playing field for us. Our offense seems to have been crippled all season long. Something's not right with Cj. One glimmer of hope, when he sat out the remainder of our last game it looked like he was having fun. So I'm hoping he gets back to having fun when he's playing. If that happens, it's over.

Looking for a good game, no injuries, & hoping you win your division next season.
Here's to a injury free game where both teams are at the best! The media narrative is silly as this is a 50/50 toss up. The Texans defense is legtit.

Wished they could have gotten a better place to practice indoors or another site altogether. But probably too last minute. Hopefully this doesn’t affect our play too much on Saturday.

I'm not listening to any politician; I'm listening to fire fighters on the ground who know what does and does not work. Having said that, the harsh reality is that failed politics are part of the reason for the massive damage, whatever your political affiliation. The loss is tragic.

Regardless, this topic really doesn't belong in the playoff game thread and I'll bow out of commenting further.

                      I'm sorry for your family.
LA could have and should have been better prepared. Pretending Mother Nature and her eccentricities don't exist is extremely irresponsible.
The Santa Annas are a repetitive fact that come with no guarantees other than that they will happen.

Not downplaying the real life tragedy unfolding in LA right now AT ALL, but it HAS to be on the team's mind. Couple that with the impact on deceased practice time, QJ's illness, etc...and I think my optimism for a win may have decreased a notch or two. Seems like too many critical distractions right now (and for good reason).

Also we are starting to get a little too much media hype, which is typically when things start to go south for us.

It will have been a good run, regardless. Just lowering expectations for myself a bit.

In the past - yes this was true, but I trust in this coaching staff to push the right buttons. This level of trust in our leadership for me is unusual - but welcome !
