Nobody outside of the team knows what he has, or hasn't been doing. The only thing I have seen was last week he started walking laps and at the end of week starting individual drills with the coach - but no report of how intense any of it was.

He must be so out of football shape, after 40 days of no strenuous physical activity....no lifting, no practicing, no contact
Damn . . . . . . . . if I stopped lifting for forty days straight I'd never want to start again - too much pain . . . . . . . .

I used to do that all the time in my 40's and it didn't hurt a bit. Of course it was for out of town construction work, not sitting on my ass.Originally posted by Lefty2SLO View Post

I worked out with my HS football kid and some of his buddies when I was 50 and surprised myself. The kid was proud of me. I still work out frequently at 80 yo but no miracles. I really tame it down and am happy just to do something.
Point being that if you work out most of you life, a 40 day break is time lost but that workout body wakes up pretty fast.

He went to the University of Alabama on a football scholarship .... WTH?Originally posted by Whydachargers? View Post
It's because I question his applied intelligence level. His decision making ability hasn't impressed me to this point. But it's a small sample size so I could be over-reacting.

Kudos for getting back to it. I wasn't completely forthcoming. Back when I trained for results, lean & hard for endurance and super quick reaction times when motorcycle racing, pyramid BB lifts for power lifting, etc. 40 days off took some patience getting back to where I was. After age 40 I just did it to feel and look good.Originally posted by Lefty2SLO View Post

I work out enough I don't get sore if I go and work out. at a min, I get some lifting in 2x a week. seldom more anymore though. Not able to build muscle like I did in my 30s and 40s ... I just won't work that hard or that often anymore lol. in my 30s and 40s I'd make a gym stop part of my almost daily routine (at least 5x/week). Now I work just barely hard enough to not shrivel away.Originally posted by sonorajim View Post

I still muster up some exercises and my push ups every morning so my chest doesnt shrivel away
