I got the vibe that Hortiz believes he's on track, vs. certain, to make the first game. If he goes NFI, he won't be available for the first 4 weeks. So they will clear him to play, but he may be inactive until he is truly ready. No way for us fans to know for sure, RBs need to have some contact before the season.

If he’s not ready for Thursday but they think he’s only one week out, do they assign a 4 week IR or just carry him in inactive on the 53 for one week? How much do they want him vs Haskins or Sanders for LVR?

Does he even have two eyes? Are they neuronetting him a camera ball?

Looking at other teams rosters...
Most are 4 RB's deep. Their #3's and #4's aren't any better/worse than ours... Sanders and Haskins.
If Najee isn't ready for Week 1... but could go Week 2... then there is no reason to put him on PUP or IR.
