I am not sure how his injury may affect him - McLaughin, but if he is cleared and even need to be red shirted for a year, why not.

So....now that I have done a deep dive on Tre Harris, I feel much better...I just didn't do my homework on the guy...because he didn't move the needle at a glance...but now with more context {injury hampering him, background as a QB, contested catch and blocking skills on display} I am very happy. Hell, to hear Joe gush, I'm really stoked...EJ Snyder, during Bootleg footballs round 2 coverage, absolutely gushed...he has Harris as his #3 WR! Granted, that's an outlier take...but what he really liked about Harris is definitely why we took him...a true, physical, contested catch winner at X.

As for Caldwell, I'm sure some have seen me mock him about a dozen times throughout March and April...always one of my go to DTs...called him Poona 2.0...and also mini Kenneth Grant...one of my favorite 4th or 5th rounders, I am not at all unhappy we picked him in the 3rd...he moves so well for a 330# guy...and when you look close, you see why...huge, powerful legs.

All in all...very nice day 2.
        Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Where is day 3? Lazy west coast mods...sleeping in...

Won't post my whole list yet...but Mitchell Evans, Bradyn Swinson, Josh Farmer, Seth McLaughlin, David Walker, APR, Hollin Peirce, Jack Sawyer, JJ Pegues, Aeneas Peebles, Elijah Roberts, Logan Brown, Zah Frazier, Ty Hamilton, Thomas Fidone II, my top 15...

I would be happy with Farmer, McLaughlin, or OC Drew Kendall.

Thank you for your explanation. I get what you’re saying. I’m not as concerned about the round as much as I am about the player and fit.

              Cheers

Exactly. With the Chargers passing on IOL so far... we have to believe that they are satisfied with what they have.
I'm not nearly as down on Zion as most posters here. And while Andre James had a down year for the Raiders... his pass blocking grade was still pretty good (65.4pff).

With the RG position now fixed... whoever starts at center could give extra support to Zion when we are passing. Or maybe we roll a RB Zion's way and help him that way. I don't have issues with Zion's run blocking. Maybe we're good enough to allow McLaughlin a redshirt year.

That what I meant in the other topic. If his medical would be ok redshirt him. But I doubt it, Achilles tendon for a big man it might be a sentence....

Obviously Hortiz thinks differently, since he covets comp picks . . . . . . . . . . I'm willing to let him give it a run and see what comes of it. He (and the Ravens) have done pretty good with this formula . . . . . . . . .

Not sure how using comp picks to move up means he doesn't covet them. They are tools to build the roster. The chances that they make the team or do anything worthwhile are not great. Last year in the last 2 rounds we picked Vidal in the 6th (who people are vocal about upgrading from), Rice who did nothing and was stashed on IR and Johnson who was cut. Hortiz may find a gem or two, but I am not holding my breath for the next Tom Brady from a late round pick. And five 6th and 7th round picks are not sticking on the roster.
